    And he'd be right, IMO.

But , let's be honest about what that "someone" did to catch Toyota Corp's attention.

I agree with everything you guys say about the engine having a design flaw however, Whats crazy to me is that Toyota is willing to replace 100K engines with essentially the same issues to begin with. and if they fail again, they will have to replace minimum the short block again which it will cost them a significant amount again! I don’t know just a thought

You mean the same thing that multiple other members on this forum, TacomaWorld, and 4Runners are still doing?

Would you like links to all the different threads on here, TacomaWorld, and 4Runners that have "Toyota Copyrighted Material" on them? You would be looking at them for days if not weeks. Not to mention there is a thread on TacomaWorld that has calibration files freely available to the public. That particular thread is nearly 7 years old now. But sure, that former member was the problem.

Toyota wasn't upset with what they said they were. They were upset that one of their employees tagged something as public and it was found by the former member and leaked 2 months before it was suppose to be revealed to the public. In this case, the 1794 Limited Edition with 1500 being built. Source: his video on the matter.

I felt it was important to give certain members fair warning to move to their safe spaces before I posted. Either I’ll be proven right, or you guys will. I’ve talked a lot of shit, yep. And if I’m wrong, you guys will remind me I’m sure. But with 2025s going down now, I don’t see this issue playing out any other way than a necessary redesign.

I’ll also be checking in when the first thread appears from a 3G owner who is out of warranty with a failed short or long block repair and is looking at a $20,000+ out of pocket repair. That’s coming IMO… this is just the beginning.

    100% agree.

EDIT: This is for clarification. While the design is a good one, there are valid points brought up the last few days. Stacked tolerances, etc and the re-design might not be an entire re-design, but a specification update that doesn't allow for the same machining processes.

I'm really surprised at how (parts wise) inexpensive the short block replacement is... Less than $6k in parts for the short block, timing cover, and gasket set

The owner isn't here, but there was an owner with 67K on their 22 PLT 4x4 on Facebook. Memory is a bit fuzzy, but don't believe Toyota took care of them and they forced Toyota to buy it back.

That’s what I was thinking, what happens when everyone’s out of warranty for the ones out the recall? People keep on saying that Toyota will take care of us.. I hope so

    Safe spaces, sure, OK.
Why is it you against the world? It's REALLY important for you to be right, isn't it? :angrygirl:
You're forgetting the third and most likely option: we'll never know, and there will be no "proving" one way or the other.

Yes indeed, you have talked a LOT of shit. On this we can agree completely.
Over and over and over again. Ad nauseum. :puke:It's like verbal diarrhea at this point.

    And one more smiley: :deadhorse:

And the turbos, etc get the “cross your fingers” glitter treatment. IIRC, you had said the turbos were about $4K each, plus other ancillary seals, components, labor, etc.

The 12 month, 12K mile warranty on a $20K+ short block repair (if everything oil touches is replaced) or long block is, IMO, a business decision to limit future financial losses from repeated engine failures which Toyota knows are likely.

It’s not me against the world, it’s apparently me against the apologists and PR types. Again, it’s a few of you 3G owners who can’t handle discussions and criticism of Toyota or the 3.4, and when it comes up you guys start decompensating. It’s an inanimate object for god’s sake, not you or your family.

And it’s a forum, if you want an echo chamber, create a thread that only allows positive posts about the 3G. But ima thread about failed motors, expect some talk about failed motors.

Yes, in the spreadsheet posted in the long block thread, there are a handful of the ~115 entries that are failures of replacement engines

Yeah, I figured my only concern is how Toyota willing to pay for all those 100,000 replacement engines and the ones out of warranty for the short block And if they fail again, they’ll have to replace it again Under warranty and that is, of course, if they have not ran out of warranty,I guess my question is how is Toyota spending $1 billion + on these crate engines Knowing that replacing the engine will not solve the problem you know?

They were more worried about the perception when the recall was issued. There is more coming out by the day, and sometimes the hour, that they are going to try and take a more hands on approach.

Well, I sure hope so. I am a loyal Toyota Customer we’ve Owned a few Highlanders a Tacoma and now a 2025 tundra never Had major issues at all I am a little bit mechanically inclined, and this is very worrisome. I’ve done a lot of digging just like you guys I guess or maybe not as much lol but I would’ve never thought that Toyota would have these issues and will not come clear of what they are causing them.

I wonder if Toyota would be looking at doing something on the back end of a deal on a new truck. If you are out of warranty and your motors fails, will Toyota give you insane trade in value IF you purchase a new Tundra type of deal?
