I found this online about Garmin Automotive OEM Blackbox solution: (using factory cameras systems)

    https://discover.garmin.com/en-US/aoem/cameras/

Looks like it’s not for the US market, but Garmin does mentions this statement:

For every automotive OEM partner we serve, Garmin assigns a dedicated team that works collaboratively to design and manufacture complete, highly customized solutions. Our growing list of OEM partners includes some of the top names in the industry: Mercedes-Benz, Honda, BMW, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, PSA/Citroen, Geely, Honda Motorcycle, BMW Motorrad, BRP and Aston Martin…

I too would have thought someone would have come up with a way to record feeds right from factory cams. At least Toyota since they come up with these ideas and not have something hanging in winshield view. So i found an acceptable work around better than toyotas! Its a factory look, forward cam integrated right into the rear view mirror shroud and an option for a rear mounted cam! There is no place to mount a rear facing cam but if your handy, you can make a crude metal L shaped bracket to wedge, with some double stick tape, up between the headliner and rubber seal for back window, to mount the rear one. There is no view while driving, but why do you need that? It records when truck is running and comes with 128mb card or buy a 256. Its 2 button op. On/off and emerg to lock file when something happens. It is viewable on your phone for adjustments or while your riding but who needs that. Its bluetooth. Its on Amazon and call FitCamX 269 for front 4k and rear 1080p or just front for 169.00 4k.easy to install

Custom bug spat pattern hood, grill & bumper. Dead Live Oak leaf collection under hood, cowl and lower fenders. Beach sand custom floor covering.
The deadbeat can claim all he wants. As long as she had working brake lights that were clean, DOT approved in good condition and not blacked out, she is not at fault. Period.

no need for an l bracket. The rear camera mounts flush above the middle seat on the plastic. No drilling or anything required.

Have the same camera in my gx550. They look better and cleaner then oem, quality is amazing and the app seems to work well. Money well spent.

This should be easy to prove in her favor if someone got pictures of the street. If she slammed on her brakes they should be on the street. Same with him trying to advoid

Basically all auto manufacturers use GMSL for camera interfaces now. You need to get in the loop to deserialize, grab frames, then write it. There's not an easy or clean way to get in the loop without disturbing the normal distribution of the video feed.
