Nah, the donor got scrapped and the only thing left was the drivers seat for some reason and it was left on a street corner in a bad part of Tacoma for some reason and the owner just let me have it for some reason.

I was pretty sure I was going to get jumped when I went to pick it up lol.

That's why I haven't committed to a relocation or x brace yet, unless it incorporates a spare drop down like this. I don't think the drop down affects clearance as much as people think for the type of wheeling most people should be doing in these trucks.

Like a vintage 1911, the center console lid loses much of its value if you remove the arm grease patina.

That looks great. Did you use special care so pressure wash didn't disintegrate it? Have usually just used soap/water on a cloth but it never came that clean.

I unbolted it (6 screw on the inside) and separated the cover from the back and then went to town. There is an inner structure that the fabric is attached to. Leave that alone. No soap, no special treatment or special care. YMMV. Believe it or not, the cushioning effect came back. It feels like new again.

Wonder if this would work on the door card fabric.

Sure seems that way. But hasn’t acted up since. Keeping the tank above half full

When I replaced my tank with a new one, I paused for a second when I put the plastic guard on it. I wonder if that contributes to retaining heat in the tank.
Like if it blocks the wind from washing away heat.
Actually now that I am remembering it (2022), my biggest concern was dirt/debris getting trapped in there and rusting out the $350 tank i just bought.

I can take more pics next time I have to change a flat but for now, hopefully these will do. IMG_1282.jpg

The spare holder is welded onto the tubes. It’s not the easiest thing to use but don’t need to often. It also helped push the spare higher up so it’s not sticking down below the rear bumper. IMG_1285.jpg

Not really possible these days without sophisticated electronics to trick the pump. The days of fill-up and pay after are gone down here.
