Put the tent in today - getting the bed base cut down to size later. 18 in tall lots of storage under for big items.

OK, I know that the general consensus is to F that sway bar, but I just can’t anymore. Today I replaced the factory bushings with energy suspension greaseable poly

Also found the bolt for the hardline bracket broken, so zip ties for the win

So I actually did this a couple weeks ago, but I tightened my suspensionmaxx sway bar links down. Tight. The installation instructions led me to believe that I was supposed to tighten them about hand tight and then like one more revolution or something like that (wish I saved the installation instructions, but I didn’t). Well that seemed to not be working because I was getting popping noises every time I turned or went over any kind of bump in the rain. I could tell it felt like something slipping or shifting. Then it even started to do it when everything was dry. With everything tight - no more weird popping noises. Not sure if this was user error or manufacturer instruction problem. I’m happy. If I smoke the bushings after 50k I’ll just buy new ones. Worth it to be rid of the noise and know what it was.

You can readily download copies of the instructions online. Here's the one Summit has stored: https://static.summitracing.com/global/images/instructions/spx-smx-1222260t.pdf

It's more about tightening until you start to see the vertical wall of the bushing start to engage. If it has clear curvature, you've gone too far and will wreck the bushing pretty quickly.

Today we loaded up the big zero turn and the riding mower (with tire chains) and headed south to Crackhead Corner.

We got rained out but we got all the mowing done.

On the drive back we accelerated up the 5% grade hill, me "putting my foot into it" this time. We hit 60 mph at one point before coming to a bottleneck and having to slow to nearly 35 mph due to an RV broke down in the slow lane. (We called and reported this to WV Turnpike).

I noticed the "low tire pressure" light is OFF. I assume that was in fact the spare tire I pumped up yesterday. :)

4wd Hi worked fine and came back out fine too.

    Seat “leathers” came in.

Definitely lighter color than the aged oak in my truck. Material feels thick and looks nice.

    IMG_4759.jpg
my OEM ones are splitting at the seams and getting pretty ragged.

    IMG_4760.jpg

When I remove my leathers, I’ll have the wife stitch the seat back up where the seam is splitting and I’ll save them.

That's neat. I've decided to replace mine this fall (we'll park the truck for winter) and get the tire replaced with a P265/70/R17 to match the other four. Also, I want to get the rim sandblasted and painted black.

No idea, there were none in the tailgate when I bought it and the panel covering it was missing too. That’s next. I have some HDPE in the garage that’s big enough I think.

Thanks for the reply....oddly enough I just read it in Dave in Texas' thread about his tailgate handle saga.

Panel was missing too? Ugh! You can find one easily enough at www.car-part.com BUT you'll probably have to buy the whole tailgate. That was the answer I got when I asked about getting a rear door handle from a yard advertising on there.

Previous owner probably took that apart for some reason and lost the parts. SMH LOL

You did a great job on the rod substitute so I'm sure this panel you make will work fine. :)

Be sure to get us a pic of the panel install!

That's awesome. Question, how'd you mount your whip/flag. Got a closer pic? Looking for a new way to do that

Is your tailgate kind tight in the last few inches to close? I got one of those from somewhere else and man I have to slam the tailgate to get it close the last bit otherwise it sticks out about an inch or two

Whewwww those things sure are cool but man they're price
