My wife's and my birthdays are July 8th and 5th, respectively.
Our 18th anniversary is today, the 11th.
No real vacations this year, so she booked a few nights for this week at a fairly new Choctaw casino/resort near Broken Bow, OK.
It was nice and clean, everyone was well behaved, even the kids that were there.

I won a little playing blackjack and she won a little playing slots.
Glad we went during the week because it wasn't crowded at all.
It was a nice little getaway, more low-key than Choctaw in Durant, OK.

She booked a cabana by the pool on Wednesday.
Fortunately, the rain held off and the sun came out all day.
Cabana was cool, it had a TV, mini-fridge, A/C unit, and privacy if we wanted it.

 

My wife and I lived in Atlanta for many years, right out of college. She got a job at CNN, initially as an intern video jockey loading tapes and making graphics, and then worked her way up to a supervisor position. I remember when they got this cool aerial photography software called Earth that was installed on a few of their computers, and then it eventually got bought by Google when this whole internet fad took over.

We lived in four different places while we were there and two of them were pretty sketchy. I’m really grateful we figured out a way out of there and to here. I love the South though, and there are things I miss from Atlanta but not much.

 

Looks and sounds like a really nice place. I LIKE low key.

Ok, since I provided straight facts, you now need to provide gay facts.

 

Wife watched an Amazon delivery driver pull up to the house with a handicap tag in their windshield. Driver got out, reached into the back of their car, grab the delivery (30-40lbs) and walk it to the house.

 

Probably has a spouse or other family member that sometimes rides with them, but they use the tag all the time to get perks.

 

You do realize some people with placards are handi-capeable?

 

Maybe it's a mental handicap.

 

Define that word for me. The only time I've ever heard it used was when somebody was trying really hard to make it sound like a disabled person wasn't disabled because they were worried about feelings.

 

If they issued them for that, we'd see an absolute ton of them throughout the cities.

 

My mom has one for knee issues, she can still carry a 30# box. A lady at work had one after she had two strokes.
You don’t have to be a quadriplegic with a cane to have one issued.

 

I bet you both abuse it and do cartwheels in front of the grocery store up to your vehicle

 

We have one for my daughter. It makes our life a lot easier, she is slow at walking and her gait isn’t even. I’m glad to tag along and we are grateful for a shorter walk. When I take her camping, for any state or federal campground, the campsites are half price. Hell yes we do that!

 

This. I've read all the other replies and don't have a problem with any of them...but if you're doing a few dozen deliveries and keeping your card in the window you're scamming the system. My Costco has 20+ reserved spots and they're all full all the time. How many times have we seen anyone in the store that deserves it? Zero.

 

I watched a couple of minutes of one of the fights and moved onto something else. I love boxing and will generally watch most stuff but never found women's boxing to be that interesting.

 

If the fight isn't broadcast from my local Waffle House, I aint interested.
