Poll: how do you ketchup fries?

I just squirt the ketchup on my shirt. That's where it is going to end up anyway.

 

ketchup or some sweet baby ray's, same application method. mustard could be good, too, though i've never committed to that.

 

Salt & vinegar

Or as mentioned earlier, bury them in cheese with hot peppers & hot sauce....

If you must ketchup, use the Good stuff, not the watered down crap....

You do not reach my age without enjoying Salt..

I don't eat ketchup with fries, I'm not a child.
Fries, usually with mustard and/or hot sauce.
YMMV..

 

Ketchup, BBQ sauce, and crushed red pepper blended on the side or place fries on the burger depending on what options exist.

 

I don't eat fries or ketchup any more but when I was a kid, I used to always dip my fries; pouring ketchup overtop and eating them with a fork felt like a fancy treat.

 

Ketchup is disgusting. Tons and tons of salt though. No first bite taste test, just pass the salt because there isn't enough.

Brown gravy is acceptable. I am not canadian though.

 

Do any of you even “drive thru”? ‘Cause the option to squeeze ketchup from the packet into your mouth, then stuff it full of fries wasn’t an option in the poll.

Oddly enough, and at a much slower pace, I’m currently making smoked onion ketchup and will be making homemade fries on the BBQ shortly. We shall see…

"Eating" and dining are two different things IMO, and fries are for "Eating".

 

Ranch, mayonnaise, chipotle sauce, sweet and sour sauce, hummus… any other sauce the restaurant has… before I use ketchup.

but to answer the question, pouring ketchup over your fries is savage. You get sauce all on your fingers.

 

With a bowl cat soup on the side.....

 

I don't like ketchup. I don't dip anything in it.

 

The fries are now on. The chicken legs and onion slices for the ketchup are progressing nicely in the smoker

 

Mayo, not salad dressing is good, too.

Potato salad is mayo based, so it tracks.

 

Real mayo is good on just about anything.

 

Of course he is, he does live in North America.

 

So these are the onion slices after smoking a couple hours. I just attacked them with an immersion blender and mixed in approximately equal parts tomato ketchup. Oh my, the flavour is out of this world. BBQ fries are nearly done. And the smoked chicken isn’t far behind

 

BBQ fries turned out the best ever. Yeah, I’ve done this a few times now, but still learning. Just need a few more degrees from ze chicken.

 

Oof. Dinner was pretty decent. The fries were a bit too crispy in the end, but that damn smoked onion ketchup was unreal. I dumped it on my plate and scooped it up with my fries as much as I could. Might eat some with a spoon later, we’ll see. So easy, so simple, so delicious.

 

Not really a potato/fry guy.

But when we make them at home, I ask for one of the kids plates with the separate compartments.

Mayo, BBQ, Honey mustard.

 

That sounds pretty damn good. How do you make it?

 

I peeled 2 yellow onions, sliced them thickly (4 slices from each), smoked then for a couple hours, blended the slices with an immersion blender, then blended in about equal parts of tomato ketchup.

 

same. Pepper doesn’t always stick to fries, but it does stick to ketchup
