    Just to clarify here:
3rd decimal place is: .001 (One-thousandth of an inch) and is a VERY significant amount for bearing clearances to change.
4th decimal place is: .0001 (One "tenth" of a thousandth) 10X smaller. One or two "tenths" either direction, much less significant.

Well, calling a stranger “son” is pretty cringe. Then inferring someone is ignorant because they haven’t been a member of this forum for more than a couple years…well, also adds to the cringe.

Toyota has adopted the Ford and GM model. Mass produce a bunch of vehicles, give a standard industry 3 year or 36 thousand mile warranty. I still have an axe to grind with toyota over not standing behind their steering wheel silver paint flaking off. I replaced it out of pocket with a TRD steering wheel. Lots of difference in quality, the customer service manager said it was outside influence. I have a rock solid breech of warranty lawsuit small claim drafted. Toyota corporate would give me money or I will win my money. Don't play games with them, sadly the only thing Toyota understands is lawsuits. Unfortunately even those get harder to do because of limits and mediation clauses. Ever wonder why Toyota is in Texas?

Honda, subaru, and Hyundai care more about their customers and do the right things.

Unless said non-owner was looking to scoop up more 2nd [best] Gen Tundras, and was aggrieved at how much value they're retaining due to a "debris" issue

The safety gear isn't there so you can drive at 100mph while texting, shaving and eating breakfast at the same time. It's there for the asshole, possibly such as yourself, who pulls out in front of the guy who's towing a camper with his two young kids in the back seat, and doesn't care because guess what....he's in a rush to get to Target to get the latest DM drop in Discord for some of those good ol Pokemon cards.

If you're referring to the fact that you have people like that pull in front of you, my apologies, but if you're the one pulling out in front of people and relying on others safety features, then not cool.

Business depreciation and write offs. It’s exclusively a work truck. My other truck (the Sierra now) serves as my daily and also gets called in for some “cleaner” work duties, especially estimates and towing equipment around.

How exactly would I help people out? Toyota gets sued a lot and I mean a lot from product liability, to class actions. I have won a lot never lost a civil suit I have been involved with. However, too many can look bad and I am not sure the juice is worth squeeze over $1200 dollars. I may have to save that juice for when my engine blows up. If or when that happens.

I think we can just summarize and move on.

Every truck maker is having issues and spewing quality deprived units out the door much of it related to trying to make lawn mower engines with 500 HP and little emissions getting 1 more MPG viable pulling 6k trucks while sometimes hauling 1 ton or towing 8. It's not going particularly well for any maker.

Maybe Ford but they have been on the Briggs and Stratton program for 15 years so they have a lead. But it's a Ford so it has other issues of concern.

Maybe some maker tries to jump the market with a game changing engine lineup that is not all high pressure boost. It may be something like the Ramcharger where you use a normal engine to charge batteries. But there is a market here searching for a product

Correct decision. Getting it right vs to market fast is critical to Ram.

Everything is agile development now with emphases on computer simulation based testing to cut costs and dev times . It leads to production of engines with early failures when there were none during limited road testing.

Buyers are now the real QA testers on most everything made

The delay is supply chain/cost related.

As my last vehicle was effectively a public beta that I was a part of from several angles (day 1 reservation holder, worked the prototype drive tour, direct product development with aftermarket companies, and forum moderator/admin), it really isn't the worst thing... The customer just has to understand what they are getting into and keep expectations in line

That'd be fine except the cost doesn't reflect it. It's priced like a fully functional bug free product. If I have to pay full price I expect it to work, not to be the Alpha/Beta tester.

My last vehicle was very very much full price as well... Ironically those that bought them after the intro (and to this day) are saving tons of money compared to what we paid to be first round testers (Ineos Grenadier)

If the makers would warranty their beta products as such.

    But warranties are shrinking.

    That is the rub.

I am thinking if the engine in my 2016 packs it in that replacing it with a crate engine is the way to go. Something about a naturally aspirated V8 is still better than a V6 turbo to me.

That's the boat I wish I were in. I should have kept my 2019. I like the 2025, especially as in the Limited trim, but I'd be lying if I have the same peace of mind in it that I had in my previous Tundra. If I didn't have such a bugaboo about buying used I would have gone back to a 2.5 gen.

Hitting the accelerator on these turbos is very fun on a joy ride.

The maintenance , reliability and fitness for truck duties not so much.
