    Not sure.
Because i have specialty ones that cost more than they should be. Like the concrete vibrator, at the time when it was new I paid $600-700. Now it's $400.

But renting one was $120 / day. It was worth my while to buy it in the end.

But the tool box with all the tools let's say $7500-10k. Not including specialty stuff like press tool, rotary hammers, drills, saws. Just what's in the pics. The milwaukee tool box i got 5 years ago before covid for $750. Now it's double almost. Same box. Some of my stuff was cheaper before for the same tool.

I use all the tools. It feels good to be able to do anything and know i have everything. No getting stuck. I don't like working not prepared.

Also, I don't eat at restaurants. I only make my own food. I spend my money on other stuff that's important to me. One tool is like not eating out for a week. In the end I'm not wasteful.

    The tools always come through

Also, I wipe my tools with rubbing alcohol after. If they get greasy / oily. They look clean. If a newer model comes out and I like it, there's still equity left in the tool to sell. And then i get the newer model.

I told the gardeners to come every other week. What they really did most for me was the blower. With the milwaukee blowers I have i can't even tell they come every other week. It saves me $1k a year just for that.
One 6.0 m18 battery has enough power to let me blow all the leaves on my property.

A smaller snap on tool box used costs what my set costs full of tools. And yes I know the snap on box will last 3 lifetimes if taken care of and not abused. And the milwaukee box is disposable in comparison to a real tool box. But for civilian use, mines gone 5 years and looksthe same to me. If it lasts 20 total i would be happy. And if I got a snap on box I'd probably have to get a used one. And with the milwaukee I was able to get it all new. Just feels good to have your own stuff from new. That i can afford.

    Screenshot_20250709_231259_Samsung Internet.jpg

My tundra was a SR5 , paid $36k new for it. I did 65+ mods myself. I do my own service. I feel like I'll do a better job for myself than a shop would, most of the time. I got parts from limited, 1794 , platinum, TRD pro, and katzkin leather and turned the truck how i want it. The day I got the truck i looked at a limited, it would have been $10k more in the end. And not as custom as mine, for me.

I don't have these tools just for the tundra. I use them 98% of the time for anything and every thing. They come through.

The other day a neighbor got these ac units and parts delivered on 3 pallet/ crate things. And i saw him trying to unscrew and take nails out of 1 to discard the pallet/ crates.
In 20 minutes he got no where. I asked him if he was saving the crates and wood. He said no just break down to haul away. I was like just cut it up quick. I got out the m12 fuel hackzall. Mini sawzall. Gave it to him. He cut up all 3 in 10 minutes and had them in his truck to go throw away. He was super happy. He even said he was thinking it would take him 2 hours to take them apart his way. He Was impressed little one handed sawzall cut it all up with 1/4 of the battery.

Just saying. The tools come through.

If I may ask, what's your trade?
And, I do like your mindset, do most of everything yourself instead of shop/dealer, unless it is something big/too much for self work.
Also, in this day and age and cost, it is cheaper to cook, grocery might cost just as much, but hey, you know what you are putting in yourself. Though, I do take the kids out for one meal on Saturday and Sunday it depends, if we are outside, we would eat out but dinner would mostly be home-cooked, or friend-cooked, whichever way it works.
I would love that tool box, I have a real small one for now and I am sorta capped out at the moment, so might need to start shopping for a used/damaged-but-still-works unit.

The thing I didn't do, and trust me I wish I still can, is gardening. My left knee is basically done for, so I can't be pushing a lawn mower, a ride-on is just too expensive to justify the cost of having it, so I have a guy that comes every two weeks for $25 to cut/trim/blow away the cutting/leaves. I have a older Ryobi blower that I am very happy with now, so I use that almost every day if not every other day.

Beautiful truck, and I agree, get the SR5 to save the cost and apply that to tools and mods to make it what you want.

Just a FYI, if you’re looking for a box here ya go. Very solid quality boxes. Still spendy, and used, but probably worth the money..

Construction business. And have a car hobby. Do my own work on my cars too.

Yeah, groceries are way more expensive too. That just forced me to take a weekly look at the local grocery stores ads, and buy my stuff across 3-4 stores wherever it's cheaper.

I have a portable DC powered fridge. $85 from Amazon. It's a real compressor fridge. Have had mine for a couple years now. Really recommend any of those fridges, they have fancier ones. My $85 one has worked perfectly

At work I always have my food and drinks cold and ready. I don't ever buy from convenience stores. The fridge has paid for itself. And I've taken it camping, to the beach, to parks... no need to buy ice either.

I have 250 watt hour eco flow power station. I plug the fridge into that. Which gives me like 15+ hours of fridge run time. Then I plug the eco flow in the cigarette lighter of the truck. And the fridge is always on running off the eco flow. And when I drive the truck it charges the eco flow. I'm never running the fridge off the truck when it's off.

I have 250 watt hour. 500 watt hour, 750 watt hour, and 1 kw power stations. If i need longer run time off the fridge i bring a bigger battery pack.

The fridge is part of the equation to not eating at restaurants and buying groceries.
Most of the time I just make fast sandwiches and just throw it in the fridge. I don't even take lunch breaks at work. I just will snack all day during work.

I have a race car. Each set of tires is $2500... I've gone through sets with less than 1k miles. Maybe 3 weekends at the track. And they were done.

It hurts to by a new set. But, that's worth it to me. And paying $20 for fast food isn't. I'm not normal either, I think $2500 sets of tires are worth it. But $20 lunches are a rip off.
    Lol

That $2500 set is still very cost effective for what I use them for. Trust me. It sounds like I'm wasteful, but it's all been calculated. It saves me money in the end.

    Everything is relative

If anyone was wondering they are a racing slick dunlop from Europe. Not sold here in the USA. And not road legal

I've used/ tried 90% dewalt, makita, and milwaukee stuff. They are all very similar.
I just like milwaukee more because they have more automotive stuff then dewalt and makita. All 3 brands work fine

Ryobi is like higher- home grade. They have cheaper plastic bodies than dewalt milwaukee makita.

Ryobi is fine for at the house and medium use. Milwaukee makita dewalt last longer if they are used every day.

Ryobi by weight seem lighter to me from experience. It's just a lesser grade, not intended for heavy use. The motors are smaller too. Less power.

The also sell milwaukee to dewalt. Dewalt to makita. Dewalt to milwaukee. Battery adapters.

You can use your dewalt batteries on other brand tools.

I have some of these adapters. Only thing bad about them is they are made of Chinese cheapest kind of plastic. And on certain tools that vibrate hard the vibrating ruins the adapter. The adapter just breaks and wears out.

Still cool to have. Let's you be able to use a different brand tool.

If there are milwaukee lights that you like, and you only got makita batteries these adapters would work fine

But things like a rotary hammer, I wouldn't try an adapter. Way too much vibrating and movement.
