Purchased both and getting ready to install on my Tundra. Anybody install these on your Tundras and can share some pictures? Install is pretty straightforward and just wanted to see how you routed the wires. TIA.

Tagged as I just got my Power Tray and Garmin delivered yesterday. I bought Power Tray's 12" braided positive and ground wires in addition to their 100amp circuit breaker that mounts to their tray. I will be installing this weekend and can shoot some pics.

I have NO accessories to hook up yet, but planning on installing:

    Most likely these:
    Or these looked interesting too.

I was going switch pro until I saw Gramin can use the stock screen. I wont have to mount a switch plate inside the truck?! I like that idea. I will probably go Garmin as long as the bluetooth connection is reliable.

That was my thinking as well. I was debating the Garmin vs SPod vs Switch Pro. I even bought one of these thinking I was going to mount a Switch Pro, but ultimately decided to go with Garmin. The only downside of Garmin (assuming the blue tooth works well) might be the app on the stock 14" screen in the Tundra. Not sure how easy or quick it will be to turn off lights. When driving at night in the mountains I like to have lots of lights on, and when a car comes quickly shut them down. That's easy with dedicated switches, just not sure how it will be with the Garmin app up on the screen with say navigation running as well. I could not test the app yet without the Garmin installed to even test it. We shall see.

I agree, maybe you can add a small kill switch somewhere to turn off and on all lights quickly. I tend to not use the aftermarket lights unless offroad. I do like to the look of the OEM panels but I have a platinum and the mismatch panel would drive my OCD crazy. Which with all that to consider the Gramin is perfect for me.

Been using the Garmin for several months and this thing is solid. Definitely recommend it.

I have the same Power trays mount that I will be using with a Garmin power switch. I installed the mount and bus bar for ground so far. I am still collecting the parts for the final install. I plan to use SDHQ battery terminals and a 200 amp SDHQ stud mount fuse. The 200 amp circuit will run into the Cab for a Blue Sea Safety Hub 150 fuse block. I will use this to power an OBA system, a Bluetti DC to DC charger and anything else I want to power in cab. I will also be powering the Garmin Power Switch from a 100 amp breaker mounted on the tray. Note, the hole pattern on the mount works best with the breakers that Power Trays sells, I picked up a blue sea breaker, but the mounting holes don't line up.

So got my Power Tray mount, Power Tray 100amp circuit breaker, Garmin power Switch, and Power Tray positive and negative custom cables mounted. The custom cables are 12”, probably could have gone with 8” cables.

Overall easy install. Paired easy and I like how you can change the switch names in the Garmin app. The only downside is the icons in the Garmin app are WAY lacking. 22 choices only. At least with Switch Pro, SPod, Auxbeam, you get 100s of choices. Maybe there is a way to download more, but quite lame especially the light icons.

I like that setup you have!! What gauge of wire did you go with on the custom length ones?

#4 gauge as that is what the Garmin used for the power cable. Power trays custom makes them so you can specify the hole diameters on each end. In hindsight the ground cable (also #4) is way too thick for the application. Garmin comes with a #10 gauge negative wire which I might re-order for the grounding block to the negative battery terminal.

I contacted power trays and they set up everything in one invoice. the invoice said 2 were 12" and one stubby. I think they were closer to 8" and the little 4". i didnt measure them tho. I can do a string measure later today and let you know more accurately. I suggest reaching out to power trays or include your vehicle in the notes and they will make sure everything is correct. They said 12" wrere going to be too long which is what Cali-Tundra said in his post as well.

Looks good @SoAzTundy! Yours looks cleaner with the shorter cables. 8" looks to be the optimal size. Mine is done and so I will just live with the extra 4" (lol)

Next up for me is getting might lighting decided. I'm going to try to go with all behind the grill light bars with SDHQ behind the grill mounting. I've seen some pics and I like the clean look but will have to see how the light does behind the grill. My Baja Design basket is all full just waiting to pull the trigger.
    • One 30" On6+ Combo pattern
    • Two ON6+ 10" Spot (one on each side of the Toyota logo)
    • One S8 20" Amber for lower hidden in the bumper
    • Tow S1s Wide pattern flush mounts for the rear bumper
I don't think I'm doing ditch lights on this build for now.

Thanks. I went with the Baja designs squadron ditch lights with rago fab brackets for now. I will add the lower grill light bar and some area lighting on the rack and be done. Might add the air compressor to the power switch if I go that route away from my Co2 tank...

Yes. It’s just like running 0-gauge for an amp, just in reverse. Three fuses before power ever gets to the Garmin. Zero issues, and didn’t have to pay $1k for a kit.

Could ir be better, sure. But it works for me and is expandable when I go to run more gear. Getting everything to the back seat was a pain.

I plan on doing something similar. But much more simple due to my set up. Plan on running 0 gauge to the pass side fuse box where ky d switch will go. Will likily just have a 120amp fuse at the battery, and ground it to the ground next to the fuse box, since I’ll only be running lights.

how did you run the wire through the firewall? Did you just slit the grommet or?
