How I spent my 4th with family:
In the outfield grass of CHS Field in St. Paul, MN.
Real, perfectly manicured grass, not wet, no bugs, some breeze after sundown to cut the heat. A couple cold $10 beers. Nearly perfect.
Not a baseball game, but a :headbang: concert and fireworks after.
    HAIRBALL! https://hairballonline.com/
These guys do VERY respectable versions KISS, Queen, Poison, Ratt, Whitesnake, AC/DC, Journey, Bon Jovi, Prince, Motley Crue, Aerosmith and many more.

    Was a great time! :rockband:

Hope everyone here had a safe and happy 4th. Spent the day down on Cape Cod with some friends and family I can only describe as animals who should be completely shunned from polite society. :) Proud to report I actually made it to the sunrise on the beach after like 17 hours of debauchery and will probably be paying for this indiscretion for many days to come.

^^But in not-so-polite society, those kind of people can be a lot of fun to hang with for short periods.^^
You're lucky you can still have 17 hours of debauchery. I think I fall asleep after 1/2 that amount.

Speaking of which, I'm out. 'Night all.

We got back from camping yesterday. Looks like everyone’s dog survived the fireworks. That’s one of the reasons we get out of here.

I guess I should get Starlink if I keep leaving town. I sure saw a lot of them zooming along. Took some night pics of stars Wednesday night.

Did a few trails on the e-bike. This one was too difficult, had to walk portions of it. A lot of it was fun though. Will not do it again. There were a few guys on motorcycles, one was pulling his bike out of the bushes. He did not have positive comments about the trail:
    IMG_6794.jpg

Day before that I did a great trail:
    IMG_6780.jpg IMG_6781.jpg

But on the way back down there were tight downhill switchbacks, and I flopped over on one of them, a slow crash. I landed right into a patch of stinging nettles. Got back to the truck and took a regimen of Benedril for the rest of the day. :eek2::eek::( And contemplated safer hobbies. Wife got me this Makita fan for Fathers Day and it’s amazing.

I have to detail a suburban today. Not really looking forward to it, tbh. It’s gonna get hot quickly.
I don’t advertise much, if any at all anymore. Fortunately, this is a repeat customer who I believe tips well

A few highlights from my camping trip. The campground no longer has a Campground Host. It was mayhem over the weekends. During the week it was better. I don’t know if I will go back there.

Things have gotten too amped up along the Poudre River. Too many campfires, and bad campers. One example, these folks were swamping the whole place with smoke, trying to burn huge logs:confused::facepalm::crazy:; no firewood for sale, because no campground host. :annoyed: Last few nights we were there, the campground host spot had six cars in it and a large group.

One camper at another spot even had a cat on a leash. I don’t understand the downward spiral of humanity.

Also I was sad to come back and see all of the flooding and tragic loss of life in Texas. :(

This guy camped next to us for a few nights and had a nice rig.

I like the way you think

Camping at all levels pivoted poorly during Covid. Now everyone treats it like one big no-consequence rager.

I do find humor that someone from the WT crowd is driving a Subaru…

Definitely worth seeing if they come around your way and you enjoy the genre. They've been doing it 25 years and have it very well dialed in. Lights, sound, costumes, pyrotechnics, all fantastic.
One of their stated goals as a band is to do the arena rock experience, and the bands they cover, justice, including looks.
You KNOW it's not Axl Rose, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Dee Snider, Brian Johnson, etc. up on stage circa 1986, but it's hard to tell.

They had free earplugs available for those wanting them.
It was loud, especially relatively up close to the stage, which we were. I found being just slightly off-axis to the main speaker arrays made it tolerable. My wife still wore earplugs, but I did not.
No excessive ear ringing afterwards for me, so all is good.

As usual, a few d-bags can ruin what is otherwise a good time. As someone else stated, they have definitely multiplied since Covid.

I have my daughter and son in law up from San Antonio for several weeks. (He's from there, born and raised.)
He is devastated at the level of destruction and loss of life he's seeing remotely from his general area.

Are all our TX peeps here doing OK?

I’m into all kinds of music and I’d definitely be up for seeing that band. My younger 21 YO daughter and wife love pop music so some of that has worn off on me, or at least I will tolerate some Taylor Swift, amazingly. I like to listen to a lot of variety. I don’t think I’m right in the head, honestly. Some of it is boredom from repetitive tasks over decades. My 21 YO, we help her eat each of her meals which can take a long time, help her get to sleep and often back to sleep, use the restroom, everything. I am listening to music or books on my headphones A LOT. You don’t even want to know how many audio books I have.

Music, I will listen to an artist on Spotify and see where it goes. Billy Strings, Charlie xcx is hilarious, Lola Young, guys like Calvin Russell, DJ Shadow, lots of jazz, blues, some classical. I’ve been trying to get classical in my head a lot lately and will listen to piano music lists like Gnossiene No 1, Bach, etc… I think I am not right in the head in some ways.

My older 24 YO daughter on the other hand will be here this weekend with her fiancé, are not into mainstream pop and they are going to see Dead Floyd Friday night at a local amphitheater. I saw Spoon there several years ago and damn those guys were dialed in.
