I'm a big fan of DIY, but that route sketches me out.

I had bought my overlay before AJT got their C&D from Toyota and can't comment on the quality of the current offerings in the wild, but overlays can still be found on eBay and Etsy https://www.ebay.com/itm/356810939199

Any recommendations for bed covers? There are do many out there. The retrax are nice, but it takes up space of bed.

I'm currrently running an ArmorFlex... and have enjoyed the flexibility of it. If you need to transport something tall, simply open it up, use the prop rods, etc. and the bed is basically as usable as it would be w/o the cover. If you need to transport some wood and just want to open the first panel then you do that, etc...

It sits flush so it looks nice, and the 'armor' flex is bedliner coated on the topside of the panels so you don't have to worry about small scratches etc ruining the appearance; just don't beat it up and you're good to go. I've put tools, lumber, etc. on top of the panels and they are holding up well.

Just know that no bed over is waterproof; that being said, if installed properly water intrusion is minimal as long as the drain chanels and such are installed properly.

Security w/a locking tailgate is reasonable, but sure it can be pryed open to someone who's determined. So, if you transport high dollar or sensitive type of equipment such as tools, firearms, etc. then I'd run a drawer system in conjuction w/it. You'd lose bed space, but a system similar to the Decked drawer system is lockable and water tight...

If you're looking for a bed cover that is more water resistant/secure then I'd look at the one's done by ARE that are a single piece lid that closes over the top of the bedrails

Anyone replace their entire steering wheel? I've been looking at doing this since the top of my SW is starting to delaminate and I don't like that.
I've looked at the steering wheels they have on Amazon.

I did it last week and ordered one off Amazon.Nice steering wheel and the install was very straight forward.I like the feel of the leather and the extra girth.Just make sure to get it put back on exactly in the position it came off... ask me how I know...lolPXL_20250622_232556705.jpg PXL_20250622_232343914.jpgI also changed out the trim pieces to black and got rid of the chrome.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D17GR5C4

NICE! That's exactly the one I'm looking at!! Cool, so the job was pretty simple? And yeah, putting the new one on in exactly the same spot as the old one will be a challenge for me too. Maybe I can witness mark it somehow.

Yes mark it cause my old blind azz was one tooth off and I didn't realize it until I drove it the next day.... lawd
You won't need a puller but you will need these tools
1/4 drive ratchet with long extension
    30 Torx for the 1/4 drive or 3/8 set-up
Trim tool or small flat head screwdriver
    1/2 ratchet and 6" extension
    1/2" 19mm socket
I had bought one of the sew up SW covers but decided I didn't have the patience for that install and the look of the new SW is sooo much better IMO.
Be sure to disconnect the negative terminal on your battery
Good YouTube video on the install by Tundra Time

I got the heated version, paid someone to install it. Did have trouble finding someone to instal it though since it was after market. 100% you won't regret it. The extra cushion and feel of the new wheel is a million times better.

I'm excited! And I do like a heated steering wheel. But here in TN it doesn't really get cold enough to need that.

Nicely done! My TG us an old Yugo SKS that I bubba'd to para length w a pipe cutter! Bought it back when SKSs were around $100, and figure if the truck is stolen or the gun is lost for any reason, I'm not out too much. I like the furniture on your AK; my Robinson Arms VEPR is a solid shooter, but is damn heavy w the original furniture on it.

I had a Makflip MX4, it was pretty good. I ended up switching to a Retrax OneXR w/ the tslot rails so I could install a bed rack. It does take up bed space, that part stinks. It does "rattle" a little due to airflow at most road speeds- you only hear it w/ the rear cab window is down.
