Totally! So I used to work in a fabrication shop that built stuff for museums and theme parks. I'd take the designs we got from architects and interior designers and make drawings that the shop could actually use to fabricate from. Make CNC files and all that, too. It was really fun.

100% start with fusion360. They have a free hobby version that has everything you need to get started 3d printing and modeling cool things like GFC builds. I use it to design furniture in my personal life even though most of my clients are autocad users. I've never used tinkercad, but sketchup is crap. It works but it's not terribly precise and if you are going to get into 3d printing you will need either fusion 360 or solidworks. Solidworks is great, but the learning curve is quite steep and if you start with their more affordable hobby version, you can't then take anything you created in it and upgrade to the pro version. You'd have to start the design over. But yeah definitely head over to the fusion website and download their freebie and play around. It's pretty intuitive once you get the basics. Tons of youtube tutorials on it, but I think I just started with some of the tutorials on the fusion site and then just started playing around. It's super cool you can make your drawings with parts lists and everything right in fusion too. And you can also assign parameters for dimensions you might want to change later and it all automatically updates. Check out parametric modeling parameters.

    Oh wow that's pretty cool!

Alright it is fusion360! Thanks so much. I don't even know what parametric modeling parameters is yet but I will one day haha
