    The 2nd video under “attempt to fix” perfectly describes my issues and my vacuum hose was probably what caused it as well.

    Final Update:

    I finally fixed my problem. It was the transfer switch on the transfer case. The switch telling the 4wd module that the transfer case is engaged would quit working when it would get hot, but start working when it was cool. This kept the 4wd module from sending the signal to the front actuator to engage the front axle. I used the Dorman switch available at Autozone part number JA449. I have been using my 4wd regularly since I replaced the switch without issue. Thanks.

    Really glad you got it figured out! I might have to change some of the diagnosis guide to mention that we’re seeing position switch failures more often.
