2022 1794 Malfunction in Power Steering

    Truck threw a power steering malfunction.......power steering fluid low.......visit dealer.

    Anyone know what this is all about?

    I didn’t know 3rd Gen Tundras had power steering fluid :confused::monocle:

    Check for fault codes but if you are low on fluid you have bigger problems - like your truck is not a 22 Tundra :rofl:

    Yes -- there is no hydraulic pump - just an electric motor/servo system, which is how we enjoy the luxury of lane assist.

    If it's a serious fault it'll be stored in the computer and you should be able to diagnose with a decent OBD code reader. However I recall another thread where there was an intermittent steering fault code thrown due to a driver being a bit .. overzealous .. in a turn :burnrubber:


    It may self-correct, or it may be a genuine issue. Drive it and see if the fault repeats, then come back here with an OBD code if it's still a problem :thumbsup:
