    Hi Everyone,

Just checking to see if a 4 TON PORTA POWER will be strong enough to bend this bumper back to somewhat straight just so I can get the blind spot monitoring to work again. Right now the light on the passenger mirror is on constantly. Got in another accident in Atlanta and that jackass had no damn insurance, again! Too many mofos driving around with NO damn insurance in Atlanta. Now before I hear garbage from some folks about letting the insurance deal with it, I got in 9 not at fault accidents in 2023 which made my insurance go thru the roof at over $6K for six months, so the last thing I want to do is call the insurance about this and end up not getting any coverage when it’s time to renew. . Insurance thinks I’m driving around looking for people to hit me! But any help is greatly appreciated.

All that is pretty cheesy metal. The bumper is like 16ga thick. I would just get a chain and find a nice tree.

Somebody ran into the back of me recently. Hard to tell, but the hitch is bent and the whole bumper was pushed down a bit. This wound up being a $5,300 fix after new hitch, new bumper skins, bumper bracing, fixing a dent in the tailgate, paint.

I wouldn’t be surprised if that would be considered totaled as there is some pretty gnarly damage to that corner.

Calm down, Francis. It's a joke. Lashing out like that is only going to invite more of such jokes. It is the internet after all.

However, to the point of actually helping, you're likely not going to get BSM working again by pulling the bumper out. All the mounts, and probably the sensor for it are likely going to be toast. That corner has be crushed completely. It also has to be properly calibrated in order to work, and it's sensitive, so "good enough" isn't going to cut it. At this point, you'll probably need a new bumper and brackets at a minimum, and that's if your frame isn't messed up.

Judging by the looks of it, the truck has an oem hitch, which damn near integrates into the frame. The hitch is toast and all twisted up. 100% there is frame damage back there. Plus all of the sensors are 100% broke or the harness to them is severed. This truck easily has $12k-$15k in damage. Maybe more. None of this can be fixed by just pulling the bumper out lol.

Yeah, that's kinda what I said. I was just pulling the punch because I figured the blunt truth would be unpalatable and thus ignored by the OP.

Though, in the pic I don't see the hitch "all twisted up" so the frame might be ok.

The hitch spreads across the width of the rear bumper since it bolts to the outside of the frame. The whole right corner is jacked, along with hitch and the frame.
