Well I called the guy back. He’s got a few possible buyers, but one specifically said he didn’t want the topper. He said he bought the topper new way back when he got the truck. Side windows do slide and he’s got the key for the back window. I told him $350 - $400 range and he seemed like he’d do it. We’ll see if it pans out, but if he calls back and wants to sell it to me, I’m gonna consider it destiny and get it. Wasn’t looking but this seems like the man upstairs telling me I need a topper.

The guy was super cool too. We bs’ed about first gens and he asked me the mileage on mine. It’s crazy how pretty much everyone with these just has loved owning them. It’s funny, both this guy and the guy I bought my truck from, you can just hear it in their voice that they can hardly believe they’re selling it. Like they’re second guessing it the whole way and know how much they’re gonna miss it.

Fuck me that's some good rice. Boy has already gone in for 3rds. I'll see if I can't make some for our next meet up. Hope you had a good day my friend!

Debating on pulling the trigger on these, since I'm planning to pick up a bumper someday from @JasonC. Plus I always wanted the candy cane tails.
    Screenshot_20250628_200849_Chrome.jpg

I picked up a shift last night and they offered me one tonight. I should've jumped on it, because when I decided to call back 2 hours later they said they already found someone. Oh well. If I had taken it, that would mean I'd have to work 6 nights in a row.
I haven't worked that many nights in a row since January haha. I love only working 3.5 shits a week. But that OT money... :D

Only reason people sold one I have is because they were getting an almost new tundra from relative with dementia.
Said wouldn’t be selling it if didn’t need money to put on the new one.

I had one of those little fuckers try to @Noah my ass on the way back from working the job in Helen last night! I should pull dashcam footage. I don't think that little shit was more than 3-4 months old at best.

Looks almost like an ARE re-pop. I don't like the fitment on the rail plastics with the ARE shells, personally, it's nearly identical to the "lay on top" fitment of that Pace. Not sure about Pace, but I suspect you won't be able to find parts for them. Like ARE, always call the manufacturer to see if they've stopped manufacture of the shells and/or parts for our trucks totally. Last I checked (2024) Leer is still selling and offering parts on their 100R (what I've got, which lays over the rail nicely, in a watertight fashion) for our Tundras. I believe SnugTop is still selling and pushing parts for the 1st gen shells too.

If you're cool with the fitment, I'd find something wrong - evidence of leaks from the roof rack drill spots, busted backup light or missing LED segments in it, missing interior/dome light, missing keys, fiberglass cracks, there's a plethora of places where these shells can fail.

To be fully clear, the current long-standing parlaimentarian deemed it inapplicable due to prior/existing rule. That and some of the other medical stuff.

But the parlaimentarian doesn't have any real authority, and anyone can opt to ignore the parlaimentarian. So while all looks good at face value, "I'll believe it when I see it".

The guy who proposed the bill said he’s pulling it like an hour ago. Public ripped him a new one for a week straight and he finally backed down.

    I wonder if it's 4wd?
She seems firm on price, despite the ripped soft top.
I really wanna offer like $2k and rip the soft top off. Would be a sweet summer car/commuter.
But then I'd need a garage or a carport and a tarp for when I'm at work. Too much rain in SETX. Often unpredictable too.

Saved it for later. Will watch if the price drops.

You say that like the new ones aren't girly.
I think if anything the old ones are more manly
4 doors are for soccer moms and ridge lines.
Tear off the soft top, pop the sun roof open, roll down the windows and you got a sweet lil beach cruiser
