Gotta head back to pasadena. Might find something better at harbor freight. I need clones so i can be a dozen places at once. Because i seem to be the only person capable of keeping everything from falling apart.

hey quick question for lower control arm bolts, if I have poly bushings can I torque to spec while no weight? or do I need to drop the truck to torque them? I would need to keep the R&P off to torque them is that okay?

Drop the truck and torque them otherwise they’ll twist when under normal load.

    R&P?

Need some quick input. We’re going to Colorado later this summer and I was casually thinking about getting a topper. This one popped up on CL. The guy called me back and I’ve got no clue on what to offer for it. The only thing I’ve ever looked at was a softopper so I don’t know much about pricing on hard tops. It is Pace brand. Thoughts?

HOW much does he have it listed for?

I paid 700 for a sung top with carpet and I also paid 1250 for a leer with windoors so it depends

So he’s selling the whole truck, but I just asked if he’d be willing to sell the topper separate.

Generally speaking caps go for $200-$750. Don't buy one missing windows, very expensive to replace and sometimes hard to source. I paid $400 for mine.

Added a little character/pin striping to the side of my truck this week while working (backing into the woods) around the property. It was the last remaining panel with no rust or dents... Not super mad at it. :notsure: Knew it was close, but didn't think I was rubbing bark.

Assuming the windows are intact then make him an offer you can both live with. Does the color match your truck? They will continue to get harder to find as our trucks get older.

One thing I forgot to mention. That one doesn't have windoors which makes it less desirable to most people. But it's not necessarily a deal breaker and it's still a nice topper. I wonder if those side windows slide.

Perfect. That’s kinda the range I was thinking. Not super worried about snagging it, but I take this truck on a lot of road trips and having everything exposed just kinda sucks. Maybe one day I’d turn it into a camper or just sell it to someone else on here and break even on it.

I didn’t know there was a “so you wanna buy a topper” thread. @shifty` for the win again.
Yeah it does match my truck. Not sure if it all works but I’ll ask him.
ill ask about the windows. I assume win-doors are the best, then sliding, then non operable.

For those that have cut and hammered on their pinch welds, did you seal everything afterwards? I noticed some kinda seam sealant/calking is down there already, but the hammer separated it in some parts.

I got under there a bit ago and popped 70% of it out with one try, stopped myself before I made it worse. Buffed all the marks out just fine. Can hardly tell.

When I did mine again recently (more aggressively), I followed behind with some good black polyurethane caulk because some areas looked like they opened up a bit.
