    Thats an amazing finish.

If it were anywhere visible Id get it sprayed by a pro. Being the roof, I will try it myself.

Thank you to everyone for the responses

I seriously considered doing my roof but my ARE cover needed attention also, so I chose to give our little towns Paint shop the job. They stripped both and after finished it looked new as ever....$1K

Holy crud there is a lot to take out to pull the headliner. Rear seat backs and back panel look like they have to come out...With my weekend disappearing before my eyes I decided to peel away the damage- really just a way to procrastinate- and this is what I found.

I think Im going to trim back to clean metal, wire wheel everything and paint.

It seemed like a pretty consistent layer of filler under the paint. One long scratch dent and one penny sized probably from hail. You might be able to see them through the rust

Yes, there is a lot to remove, but it's just time and the vehicle is still usable with a lot of that stuff removed (you may need to reattach the seatbelt if that gets removed). Don't take the shortcut the last guy did. You'll kick yourself later.

Yeah, grind out all that filler and get back to shiny metal and see what you are actually dealing with. How big is the dent, I can't tell with no scale next to it.
