Do you have ESE and ANC ?

Engine Sound Enhancement (AKA... fake V8 sounds)

    Auto Noise Cancelling

These 2 go hand in hand together with the JBL premium audio on our trucks. I don't have either on my DC with sunroof and 6.5' bed. I am trying to determine if it is only a crewmax option, and have been told it is and also that DC's have these sound enhancers.

Thanks in advance for all responses,
    Mike

For the thousandth time, it's not "fake V8 sounds." There are no V8 sounds. There are no fake sounds. It is a mic in the engine that takes real sounds from the engine and then "enhances" it to make the truck sound like it has a deeper/more powerful sound. It's not fake and it's got nothing to do with a V8.

Why in the world are you so darn upset? Why do you care what people refer to this noise as so much? Honestly, what does it matter? I know what the sounds are called and called it by that. I only used fake V8 words as that is how some refer to it as. Just because you don’t take advantage of reversing underwear and turning them inside out… doesn’t mean we shouldn’t get 4 days out of a pair! lol

    He sure did.

Upset? No. Irritated? Yes. It's irritating because it's inaccurate. It is neither fake nor is it V8 anything. Saying it is, especially if you know that isn't the case, is irksome because it is untrue. It's in the same line as Toyota claiming the warming puck on the 2019-2021 Tundra was a transmission cooler or that they had a limited slip diff when it's just a brake system that simulates one.

I realize there's no harm or ill intent behind it. At best it comes off as ignorant and at worst it's willful ignorance and false information. Thus, it is irritating to see it continually misrepresented.
