Back home from a nice 5 day family visit/road trip.

    Starting route:
    SW Washington
    Springfiled, Or
    Klamath Falls, Or
Susanville, Ca (30 mile detour, road construction on the main hwy into town)
    Reno, Nv
    Fallon, Nv
Was in Fallon, Nv and did a fair bit of driving to see family and friends

    Homeward bound route:
    Fallon, Nv
    Winnemucca, Nv
McDermitt, Nv and Or (the town splits the border of Nv and Or)
    Burns, Or
    Prineville, Or
    Gresham, Or
    SW Washington

Kept track of the numbers since this is the first road trip I've taken with the truck. Total Miles 1859.9. Total fuel 117.95 galleons. Gas mileage 15.76. Pretty damn good considering it's an 11 year old truck rated for 13 to 17 mpg brand new.

And yes, pics to follow. Wife was in charge of taking pics and we only got home last night

So from Fallon to Winnemucca did you go the roundabout way down Hwy 50? Because Sand Mountain and the shoe tree are near Middlegate on Hwy 50.

Nope, family lives in Fallon and we went to Austin and Eureka Nv to visit friends. Caught the rest area, shoe tree, and Sand Mountain on the way back to Fallon.

We took Hwy 95 North to the I-80 outside of Lovelock then up to Winnemucca

I was very happy. Didn't do anything crazy...5 over the limit with cruise control set. Didn't have to romp on it passing people all that much.

I'm usually do that road trip in August or September. Views are nice, but it's a lot drier with the water levels low in the lakes and rivers. Doing this trip in the late spring/early summer was awesome.

Massive difference between early summer and late summer. The higher water levels and lower temps makes the drive so much nicer.
