Ported heads with upgraded valves and springs will run you ~$3250 alone. That's based on XAT and the Google AI smah-tee pantz talking about Monkeywrench Racing(?).

Not sure if that helps the discussion at all.

Fwiw, it's Phoenix, Monkeywrench, XAT and Prospeed the intelligence references. I only knew of 2 of them.

So far I'm very underwhelmed with the Magnuson.
Although I'm still in the 400 mile break in period so I dont know if the installer installed a weak tune for the break in period or not.
I do know I have to bring it in at 400 miles so he has to be going to do something with it.
Maybe just a break in oil change but I really dont know for certain.
Whats other peoples experiences been like?
When I had my Tacoma SuperCharged it was a Night and Day difference.
Not so with the Tundra at this point.

LOL- have you checked the bypass valve is opening/closing freely? Again, you haven't even got on it yet to really know any significance in change. It's a larger blower than what your tacoma had so it will take more beans to feel.. There's no "Soft" tune. Im assuming they loaded the maggy tune since you're concerned about the warranty.

Also, remove the restrictor jet from the bypass valve hose

Whatever this forum told me to do

    this.

    I drive like a geezer.....it acts EXACTLY like a N/A 5.7.

however, once you hit Power Enrichment, the motor changes into what you think it should be.

or, once you create enough vacuum for the bypass to close, you are still driving, essentially, a N/A motor.

smash the skinny pedal. watch what happens.

fuckabuncha 400 mile break in bullshit.

Whatever this forum told me to do

    for theatre of mind.

it wasn't too many moons ago that a hopped up F250 wanted a go.

this was the 1st "real" smash after the 77.5mm pulley

I was shocked what the Tundra could do once you floor it.

    shit happens quick.

Dude you keep posting the same thing, and we keep telling you the same thing, and you keep ignoring us, then you post the same thing again. It's not a tacoma, it's a different blower, there's no such thing as a "weak tune", break in period, or break in oil, and if you're not getting on it and building boost its gonna drive like a stock truck.

I've got on a bit nothing crazy though.
And like I said,it was night and day when I had the Tacoma SuperCharged right off the bat so I do have some experience with SuperChargers.
I'll of course wait to pass judgement until after the 400 mile break in period.
But as of right now....it's kinda meh.
Guess I'll see in a few hundred more miles.
I should be out there driving aimlessly around right now to speed up the break in period.
Would love to get on I-10 and head west until I hit the halfway point of my remaining miles but you need to vary your speed during break in according to the installer which makes sense.
At least it should only take around a tank of gas to reach that point.
    An expensive tank of gas......
Guess ya got to pay to play as they say.
Oh..I do have a bunch of crap in the bed right now, probably a couple hundred lbs of it so it'll help once I get that out.
Just trying to avoid taking it out since I need the the stuff out at the Lake next time I go up.
Hmmm...good excuse to hit the lake this coming weekend, that'll add around another 150 miles.
Might piss off some people while varying my speed but F em!!!
And I can experience the slow lane for a change.

@Tundra Texan Put the damn pedal to the floor. I mean 100% throttle. If you don’t notice a difference then we can talk about possible issues and things to check. And again there is no breaking in necessary for a supercharger. No break in oil, and no break in tune. Just hammer it.

My guess why this experience is different, is the Tacoma is so absolutely gutless to begin with that it's probably in boost 90% of the time just to do anything. Where as the Tundra has plenty of naturally aspirated power to begin with, so it's very easy to cruise and drive around without touching boost.

I'll do some 1/4 mile runs once I get all the crap out of the bed and past the break in period and see how they compare to others times.

I would say it's pretty close.
When I say bricks they're actually three inch thick pavers that are a bit over a foot square probably 14x14. And theres about 20 of em.
Along with all the parts that came off my truck and some other miscellaneous crap.

My point here is even at my 7300+lbs weight there's a noticeable difference being supercharged.
