Removed the TRD Skid Plate off of my wife’s 2023 Sequoia Limited TRD Off Road, and reinstalled on a 2025 factory lift Tundra.
Mod - Cut 4x6” of material off of the aluminum skid plate on either side near where sway bar mounts are located while plate was laying on the driveway. The cuts allow the skid plate to install just like a non-lifted Tundra, only after the mod you fit the plate under the sway bar. The cuts allow for the sway bar mounts and sway bar to not interfere with the skid plate during install. I used a 110v Dewalt 4.5” cutoff for the first cut, but switched to a cordless Milwaukee reciprocating say with a good metal-cutting blade, and that was much easier. Used a wire wheel on a drill to dress the cuts. I know true off roaders might want the sway bar covered, but I’m good with mod as I just wanted rock protection.IMG_7394.jpg IMG_7393.jpg

How did you get the aftermarket tow hooks to fit with the factory TRD lift?

@G8Santini you are costing me money again!! Lol

Great mod and after seeing how you mounted those AFE tow hooks I'm going that route for now as not wanting to swap my bumper for aftermarket just yet. Now off to Facebook to look for a used TRD Skid plate. :D

$$$ Tell me about it. I’m not a social poster, but felt I could share that the AFE and TRD skid plate will work with the TRD 3” lift. Kinda frustrating how bad intel is out there. I read you might have to wallow the AFE holes out a fraction, but I didn’t need to do. They work good. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.
BTW - I saw there is a TRD knock off skid plate on Amazon for 1/2 the TRD price.
