Can't be. '25 production year trucks are immune. The problem has been fixed.

And no reasonable person should need or expect a warranty extension on the replacement engine the Toyota faithful boo birds pound me everytime I mention how that is Toyota transferring their future risk that the engine is 100% fixed to the buyer

Just your response means you are already on the job. Probably working OT

Go ahead and feel free to unload a 5000 word rant on why real Toyota owners self warranty everything no matter how bad the problem

I’d still buy Toyota truck if I had to do it again, even with my engine failing. Not cause I’m a Toyota fan boy, but because the alternatives aren’t any better. If there is as a better truck for same price with same specs then do indulge me.

Yep. I have a similar warranty from my Nissan dealer. $100 deductible. There is fine print with this type of warranty. ALL required scheduled maintenance must be performed by the dealer. Even oil changes. I have a great dealer which helps.

Not sure I would call it a perk, if as mentioned earlier ALL maintenance must be performed by dealer. What does all that dealer charged maintenance cost over the life of the truck vs doing it yourself, which would exclude many from that lifetime warranty. Miss one service and they have grounds for denying the claim. It's smart marketing as it probably gets them some service work for their shop side of things. And who is going to honor that warranty should you move?

Toyota doesn't offer a lifetime warranty afaik ... got the longest platinum warranty Toyota offers. This is 3rd party.

In this dealer I bought my 2024 they give lifetime warranty on engine, transmission and major components, of course you have to follow the recommended maintenance at any Toyota dealer. Some dealers offering this type of warranty do require maintenance to be completed only with them.

Smart marketing. Dealership service department is their $ maker. I'm 69 and done with DIY. As I mentioned, my dealership service department is spot on. Been going there for over 20 years. Full power train and drive train coverage. They'd prolly cover other things because they know I've been good to them. They've been good to me.
