At what point would it have been easier and cheaper to have bought a Baja truck and added air conditioning than doing all of this work to the tundra haha.

made it home! 10 days, 2292 miles. truck ran really good- only exception was that the AC didn't feel super cold at times. need to diagnose that.

pulled our camper from phoenix, az > tucson, az > alamogordo, nm > roswell, nm > balmorhea, tx > fredricksburg, tx > austin, tx > san angelo, tx > las cruces, nm > home. mostly saw 7-8mpg. first 3 days were 105F+ temps (Intake temp read 130F+).

Did you ever figure this out? I am having a similar issue but getting a clunk at low speeds (15-20mph) on bumpy roads. I retorqued everything with no luck.

I went from Toytec to these. I currently have SPC arms but I'm wondering if I should replace them with the Bilstein or Dirt Kings.

Threw on some OME front springs, a cheap jungle website 2" lift block for the rear, SPC upper control arms and Timbren bump stops front and rear. She rides OH so much better on the rough gravel road I take on the daily. The bump stops are worth their weight in gold but the new front springs mean that she doesn't bottom over the slightest bump.

What did you torque the bolt and the ball joint castellated nut too? I ask because the instructions are wrong.

I would highly recommend checking them. The UCA bolt should be 173 ft lbs, the large ball joint mounting nut is 200 ft lbs for the maintenance free ball joint, and the stud castellated nut is 81 ft lbs, not 45 as stated.

It was Amazon. 400 bucks. Weighs about 80 lbs. Seems solid enough. There isn't much to the OEM bumper. Not much at all. This is more substantial. I looked it over before I put it on and everything seems to be made well. The welds were good, the D ring mounts are beefy as are the D rings. The only problem is my harness for the trailer plug isn't long enough. I don't pull a trailer but I like everything to be hooked up like its supposed to be.

I would get rid of the red on those corner pieces. IMO it would look better.

That's an understatement... the rear bumper wouldn't stop a Chevette at full throttle... nor would the front...

Managed to get the torque converter fluid up to 258. Caught the picture below. Pan temps stayed in 230’s. This was on route 50 in WVA on a long steady hill climb. No cooler.

Installed the tailgate lock kit from Pop & Lock. Part# PL8547TUN. This updated version includes the wire harness for under the passenger kick panel which used to be separate. No wire taps. Easy install, plenty of videos on YT. Longest part was routing/tucking the wire safely under the truck. Feels better knowing the tailgate is always locked now!

Also swapped the oem all-weather mats for a weathertech set I found on marketplace for cheap. Part #444081-440938. Much better coverage overall. I like how the front mats go over the door sills where water used to collect. Only gripe is the left-foot rest area isn't fully covered, not sure why they designed it like that. Back mat is awesome, complete coverage.
