Hey guys, when I test drove my 2017 it had a bad vibration. The dealer doesn’t fix it until it’s bought. So I bought it and test drove it before I brought it home. No vibration because I stayed in the city. Needed an alignment, which now I think the salesman was lying about, because there alignment machine was broken. Anyway they sent it out for an alignment, came back and I took it home. On the way home, still needs a better alignment and I was getting a vibration. What would be the common causes of this vibration? Thanks

Do you feel it in the steering wheel, or driveline, brake pulsation? Where do you think it is coming from?

Where does it feel like the vibration is coming from? Any lift kit or is it stock? How many miles....it could be a a few different things....tire balance, rotors, ball joints, tie rods, etc.

I just dealt with vibration myself. Mine was tire issue. Took it three times to get it forced balanced. Finally got it to where it was good enough.

Shakes the body like a shimmy and some vibration at the steering wheel.

I'd try that first. It's the cheapest option.

    Good luck

My experience so far with vibrations has been from unbalanced tires. Even when correctly balanced there seems to always be a certain speed that there will be one.

Road force balance the tires, ensure PSI is good.

do you have E rated tires or P rated?

    Alignment for sure.

Generally tire shops can check for ball joints and laxity in the control arms while checking tires.

I feel the vibration with my butt, and I look at my side mirror and it’s shaking. It’s got about 60 thousand miles on it. Thanks

Does it happen all the time, when you're braking, accelerating...?

If you don't feel it in the steering wheel, you can probably rule out the front tires being out of balance or anything in the front suspension.

If it is in a particular speed window such as 50-60mph before slowly subsiding or reducing as the speed increases over that window it is likely just a wheel balance issue.

Could be suspension or tire balance in rear wheels

Road force balancing would likely be very helpful. It’ll also know if your wheel is bent.

are your wheels OEM or aftermarket?

are the lugs to spec, 97 foot lbs?

any uneven wear on the tires?

Depending on tire and environmental conditions, temporary tire flat spotting isn’t uncommon. Also, road surface conditions play a factor especially when one considers highway expansion joints. Could just be some bed bounce.

Actually did have a little today I noticed. Going to the dealer Friday and getting an alignment but I’m going to tell them to check the balance on the tires first.
