I'll use the Lucas Dyno I ordered & change it in 500, I'll stay out of boost & under a zillion RPMs & hopefully live happily ever after....

I'm not debating, I want to do it properly so I don't fuck up another motor. I'm well over my limit.

My fingers are crossed this one gets you fixed up correctly. I feel like that latest junkyard motor you had for the tree was hurt from the very beginning and the fact it last as long as it did was more of an accomplishment than a failure.

Any new additions to the Day 1/install time additions? i got my whipple tracking but it hasn't moved from "label created"

I think the last thing that we came up with was a catch can and a wideband. I did end up getting HP Tuners and credits, but will probably just try out the whipple tune until i reach out to our local Mad Scientist.

A while back i there was talk of heat blankets and spacers.....

 

smart man leveraging all of the talk in here and asking before install. "while you're/they're in there" is a very real motivator.

i think the answers will be YES to the heat mat and TBD on the spacers. it's probably also a good time to consider doing the Hewitt bypass kit if that has ever crossed your mind.

Yes, wideband is paramount and you can do it without the blower, so if you already have it I would just install it now while you wait for the Whipple.

 

Anyone have the heat mat link handy so i dont have to dig through all the pages?

I'll have to look at the Hewitt kit, its never come across my radar. Seems like might not be necessary unless i have those CEL codes? I'm in the worst state for emissions (TBD, heard rumors of that might change, but doubtfull), so i don't want to mess with too much emissions related stuff.

I really should go and install that wideband....i've got everything i need to do it, just seems like a pain...even though its only a few bolts and then taking it to a shop to weld the sensor.

 

Oh it is an absolute pain, pulling wires, tapping into power, installing the sensors, it's a half day task itself. Good luck!

 

Make sure you grab some extra exhaust gaskets too, mine were toast when pulling everything apart.

My back and shoulders hurt just thinking about it......it just went from a "maybe i'll tackle it this weekend", to a "we'll see".

I'm still undecided on my gauge mount. I have the vent pod gauge mount currently but it being summer, it feels wrong to loose a bunch of airflow.
Only other option i really know of is the steering column mount. I'd like to keep it as stealthy as possible.

I wish there was just a small display i could tuck besides the cluster gauges or be able to have it displayed on my head unit like the other gauges. I wonder if anyone has torn apart one of the Innovate gauges.

Csp racing is out of stock but they get them from fi interchiller.

 

If you want to be a test case I could cut out another knee mount gauge pod, even though I said I'd do this months ago, maybe I would finally do it again

I ordered 2 gallons of coolant in the order for oil, Trans fluid & coolant for delivery today.

They seem to have split the two gallons up.

 

Rockauto and Walmart do that to me all the time. Most irritating thing ever.

 

Yup, 1 gallon.

The other has not even shipped. WTF??
