Clunking sound from driver's front side

    my name is lars, i was told about this site by matt luther. i bought the shocks/struts with the 2in spacer lift from him. i installed the front struts and diff drop and now i have a klunking sound comming from the front drivers side, possibly the front drivshaft. a little help would be nice, thanks.

    No but when I get around 30 to 35 mph it starts plucking. Driveshaft seems loose

    Can you get underneath and take some close up pics of the diff drop and L/R CV boot areas? There is a u joint up front that is extremely hard to get to. You might want to check that too. I was able to grease it. Was totally dry. Probably never greased since factory. It's located at the north end of the transfer case where it connects to front drive shaft.

    i will try tommorow, iam wondering if the cv shaft pulled out of the front diff when i was pushing down on the lower control arm to get the strut in. what do guys think? i got a new cv shaft but do not have the correct tools to do the job.

    My guess is cv. Pulled out or wrecked bearings.

    How do I know if the cv shaft has been pulled out? That is kinda my thought to, but I don't know if it is popped back in.

    Grab the cv and try to move around. If it is loose or makes noise then there is a problem.
    Normal for a little movement or ability to turn but no too much.

    Like the Willie Nelson song says "on the road again" just got done swapping out the drivers side cv drive shaft,no more kluncking noise. The old shaft had all the bearings laying in the boot,caused by over extending the drive shaft when I installed the strut/shock. I now have a 39mm socket if anyone ever needs to borrow one. Thanks for everybody's input.
