Whatever this forum told me to do
    we miss the MX.

the jeep compass (rental) is consistently reminding us the Stellantis is a horrible company.

the technology of a Tesla dwarfs all other cars.

While I can't comment on anything Tesla with any authority, I will say that I would rather walk than drive a Jeep Compass, or pretty much anything Stellantis.
I would gladly drive my MIL's 10 year old Kia Soul before a new Jeep product.

All the jeep rentals I had were trash. Last rental I had for Oklahoma trip was a man Atlas Cross sport. I gotta say, those are pretty roomy for it’s size

    and

how long do tires last on a 9k lb truck?

factor in ... a truck that has great acceleration

    consider my situation:

a full "tank" on the MX costs us ~$11 for ~335 miles $.033 per mile

the Chevy would be $25 for 478 miles $.052 per mile

it gets mega-nasty when you have to supercharge. the rates go to $.40 per kwh for the tesla

and I believe there is an extra vig that non-tesla's pay on tesla chargers.

I won't discuss non-telsa chargers as they are generally unreliable.

    so...why buy the Chevy?

    it ain't efficiency

is it for the folks that want an EV truck that looks like a truck?

who is the demographic? corporate men? it ain't women.

    it ain't for commercial duty

you will charge TWICE as long as the next guy...no debate there.

    ok...I'll just say it......it won't sell.

    Expanded the tweet...er x?

Curb weight is 8,900. So I wonder what the cargo capacity is for this thing.

The post calls out "steel springs" as a feature. Are the springs on the current version not steel? Seems like an odd thing to call out as a highlight.

    Range isn't always an issue.

This is something I have to remind myself of, a LOT of people tow within 75 miles of home. It's not always a road trip.

Can you share your real world experience with towing and how it impacts range? This is the biggest issue I see is how the range drops considerably while towing. Not an issue in town but it is when I tow my camper from Texas to Yellowstone.

I think Out of Spec on YT does some towing tests.

I know TFL does but I can't bring myself to watch them anymore

Whatever this forum told me to do
Hoovie's garage killed the Ford Lightning.

he did a tow test....and it failed epically.

    EV's are not tow vehicles.

    Yes, they can tow.

    Towing small distances is fine.

just make sure you can charge easily.

'cuz you ain't charging, at a commercial charger, with that trailer attached.

    let's talk charging times

the Chevy will take TWICE as long as a Tesla. no debate.

We (MXp) can get 3/4 tank at a 250kw charger in ~18 minutes.

assuming the Chevy can take a sustained 250kw....you will be there at LEAST 36 minutes.

presently, the Chevy is the best range option for a Truck EV. no question. but who buys big 3 EV's?

and who buys EV trucks....even the CT is struggling.

    the Market knows all.

if the CT looked more like a truck, I would get it.

I know we've said it before but if Tesla builds a "normal" truck for the masses, for $50-60k and gets 400+ real-world miles..

Can you imagine the sales numbers??

Towing is bad around 1/2 of your normal range is gone. Which is why chevys 492 miles would be nice!. We have a 26' Lance that we use 3 or so times a year, one other time for a motorcycle trailer. We live in the Denver area and I see lots of lightenings, rivians, & a few ct towing. Power and handling is the best i have ever driven but the range is horrible. Keep it under 70 mph & 120 miles is no problem. Chargers are literally in every city now, unhooking trailer is annoying. I have seen one pull through charger for trailers.

Imho 400 mile normal usage battery would be perfect for towing and everyday use.

Well, I did a number on the front passenger wheel cover last weekend.. :anonymous:

I'm just used to bumping short curbs with my truck, no big deal. I just spaced it out that I was in the Tesla.

Those $200 covers are worth their weight in gold i tell ya. My wife has dinged them all up but the factory wheels still look great

Now watch, the next big update will be a curb avoidance feature but it'll be a $10.99 per month subscription.

Might be worth it for you, @nobodyintexas :p

    <knocking on wood>

as stated previous - the MX is treating us right.

it appears all anomalies associated with rim/tire destruction are indicative of the MS.

    or so it appears.

And...the high falutin' adjustable camber bar things we installed on the MX are continuing to do a fine job of preserving tire life.

12k miles, and no noticeable tire wear.
