I'm in the market for a 1GT still. I've been debating whether or not I want to get one with a sunroof (though, I know this is largely determined by what's available). I don't think it's necessarily a dealbreaker if the rest of the truck checks out, but curious what everyone's pro/con's are for the sunroofs.

The sunroof you don’t have won’t leak, won’t break, and won’t need limo tint. ;) That’s said, it’s not usually my top priority to avoid one…have to take what you can find in the used market.

I've never understood sunroofs, the sun beats down on you, wind noise, and such potential for water leaks. My G/F had a Camry (great car BTW) with a sunroof, other than opening the end for ventilation, we never opened it. Just get a motorcycle for the open feeling. That's what I do at least. YMMV of course.

Get an AC & fit a aftermarket sunroof. One of those canvas ones that accordion & make a giant hole.

My scooby has a sunroof. Had it 5 years. Think I've opened it once. But, hey, Texas. It's a gazillion degrees, or it's raining.

Thats why we call em moon roofs. Go far enough west & its nice at night. Also, it would be great for dealing with roof racks & probably canopys.

or to stand up through and weigh & measure traffic jams. Eff it, turn your truck into a deer stand.

The double cab sunroof is huge and its REALLY NICE to have on cool days. I normally keep my shade slid back in the winter and let the semi-warm sun hit my face and head. You can close the sliding sun shade any time you want easily to keep the sun off you so its just like a standard headliner.

I have not opened my sunroof, but i do like to slide the sun shade back and see out of it from time to time. Its big, and makes the trucks interior feel huge. I have not opened it intentionally, just so i reduce the risk of having problems with it. I have a sunroof in my daily driver and use it occasionally and i can tell you the more you use it, the more problems you'll have out of it. I'm not far from sliding it back, running a bead of RightStuff around it and closing it and pullin the sunroof fuse.

I love my pano moon roof on my 1794. Came from a TRD Pro 4runner without a sunroof (2018) and loving it. I have had them in the past and never had one that leaked. I hear all the horror stories but I've never experienced them. Get what ya' want!

Same here as what this guy said ^^^^

Plus, I too have no desire to have it open w/the sun beating down on me, but on a cool evening this is the only way to cruise...

I've had them on 2 Tundras w/no leak issues; just make sure you keep the drain tubes cleaned out if they start to get debris in them and keep em lubed up!!!!

In my shop we see 2 types of sunroof issues; leaks due to clogged drains and track failures due to lack of use and lack of maintenance.
