    Gents,

I'm trying to determine if I have an LSD on my '07 2WD Sequoia. Factory tow package and 17 inch wheel option.

Is that the remains of the LSD sticker I've seen in other threads? Sorry about the crappy pic.

    Thanks,

LSD stickers are typically oriented vertically, above the fill plug IIRC on the Tundra. Not sure on Sequoia.

I think if you create a Toyota login it'll give you some insight to the specs of your rig from factory.

Click here to create a login and see anything that was done to your rig at a dealer before you owned it. The other way to tell is take a peak in the bunghole

Colors. Lots of colors. Especially when you drop 10-strips at a time.

    Gents,

I went to the Toyota site, created a login, and downloaded my info a couple of weeks ago. It didn't tell me the square root of eff all. It never mentioned the factory tow package, aluminum 17" wheels, and it even said I had fabric interior. It's leather.

I can clearly see the outline of whatever that sticker on the diff is. Could someone please pass me the length and width of an intact sticker. I'll assume that's what it is if the measurements match.

    Thanks,

I'm trying to figure out what gear oil to use...

Just put Lucas 80w90 in the rear diff and move right along. Problem solved.

If you REALLY need to have synthetic, either the Valvoline FlexFill bags or Amsoil Sever Gear will work for LSD, supposedly, with no chatter. If not, just use the Lucas. It works, universally, and is a no brainer.

PS: here is the normal location, shape/size of the LAD sticker I’ve seen for the Tundras: https://www.tundras.com/threads/wha...-gen-tundra-today.2558/page-2360#post-3930678

Compare the width of the sticker to the width of the drain bolt for reference on size. But if you really want to know, since sometimes rear-ends do blow up and get internals replaced, you’ve been given above two practical ways to figure out, visually, with very little effort, how to know if you have LSD. The video method above is the “classic” way to tell.

Also, if you’ll read the link that I posted earlier, you’ll see whether you have LSD or not when you pull the drain plug

Edit: I think the term is bunghole

What is/was the horizontal sticker behind the parking brake cable?

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, it is likely the remnants of the sticker I have are not those of an LSD equipped Sequoia. No problemo. It would be nice to know what that sticker was.

    Thanks much,

I finally got a chance to look inside the bunghole. I saw gear teeth, dammit.

Given what I've read, including the ECGS article, it appears I should buy a gallon of Lucas 85W-140 dino oil. Is that correct? My owner's manual says 75W-140 synthetic, but makes no mention of an LSD. I'm in southeast Virginia.

BTW, I dropped the spare to make it easier to get at everything and the build date on the tire is 0406...

Lucas 80w90 is plenty fine for any rear-end in our trucks.
