It is, in fact, illegal in many locations with more and more governing bodies adopting controlling regulations. For instance Maryland passed new regs just a couple years ago (2023) as did many other locations. It's an obnoxious weed.

Probably better off with just a ladder bud. Rent a decent paint gun and have someone hold the ladder to be on safe side. The only thing you really use one arm for is the sprayer while painting

More about losing a little umff/power is the exhaust isn’t a certain length past the muffler is what my concern is.

If you saw the hill and the height you'd understand why I don't want to attempt it on a ladder. Not worth it.

Care to share pic of height and slope ?

When doing construction with Dad and DIL many many moons ago, we used to secure 2x6's horizantally to the floor joists with about 3' sticking out from house and attach appropriate length 2x4's vertically at outer end of 2x6, similar to scaffolding others have mentioned. Of course we also had a long stout walk board.

Give it great thought whatever you decide, there's a widow maker just waiting if done wrong....been there done that and broken ribs to prove it.

This is what I used when we remodeled the kitchen back in 2009, and I swapped out the 6ft tall double-hung window (like the one in the top-right) for a half-height wind-out, and it was plenty sturdy.

They have tilt, and level protection.
I've had to use them a lot.

I will say the rental units can be touchy and hard to work with considering the sway, and ruined controls. Called rental for a reason.

I'm close to pulling the trigger and buying the LED miniprojectors you posted.

I have also been looking at these other similar mini projectors that are a bit cheaper but make similar increased output claims. What do you think?

What kinda jackass thought a 5.5ft bed thats narrower than 69” is truckworthy? The theater kid of trucks. Needs a loud exhaust & stickers…
    IMG_1040.jpg IMG_1041.jpg

i know i cant properly heckle, but it would fit flat in my truck w/o the cap.

mid size trucks with useless beds will be profiled differently from now on.

This may be a stupid question, but bear with me.

So I was due for an oil change and went ahead and started my valve cover gaskets today too. So I drained the oil like normal and with the limited time I had, did the passenger side and it’s all done. But I need to drive the truck in the morning. Can I go ahead and refill the oil so I can drive, and then do the drivers side gasket without draining the oil again tomorrow? I’m kinda clueless about how and where all the oil goes inside an engine when its full and don’t know if I’m gonna have an oil spill on my hands if I pull of the drivers side valve cover without draining the oil.

Can you do the driver side without dropping crusties into the head? I thought thats why you do the driver side first.

j/k i’m sure you’ll be fine if youre careful. Oil under the valve cover drains, and drains faster than its pumped in (ideal conditions). You can make a mess, but its not necessary.

No need to drain oil for a valve cover change. Most of the engine oil drains down into the oil pan after shutting the engine off. The residual left in the head will be the same with or without draining the pan. To mr5’s point though, if your dripping crusties into the head when doing the valve cover gasket swap, then changing the oil after will help clear those from your oil. Just be tidy when doing the swap and clean up after yourself and you shouldn’t need to change the oil.

Cool. Yeah I wasn’t sure how high the oil level was when the truck was off. I guess if it’s not all the way up the dipstick then it would make sense that it’s not up to the valve covers.

Yeah - not dropping the crusties is a challenge. This truck grew up in Boerne on 20 acres. So no rust, but lots of dust. I might wash the drivers side a little bit before I do it. There was a ring of oily dust and debris just outside the line where the gasket was sitting. And I had old looming falling apart too and had to fish some out…
