Are they still installed and you’re curious if they are still working? Depends if they are normally closed or normally open. Old school way, suck on one port and see if it’s open or closed then activate with Techstream if connected to the truck as it should go the opposite way. If it’s not connected to the truck, apply power and ground to the two small terminals to activate. Power is going to be either 5V or 12V but you can check on the truck at it’s location to confirm.

Thanks! So these are just a simple "they either work or don't work" type of thing. Any idea what actuates them? I'm still trying to diagnose a P1604

Is your Tundra taking a longer time then usual to start? P1604 is a startabillity code.

The actuator is just a simple switch that controls a vacuum. The Toyota ones are very reliable.

Spark plugs are not to bad to change and difficulty comes down to your ability. Every tech I’ve worked with including myself never torque spark plugs, I just know by experience but you can find the torque spec in the service manual. Make sure the top of your engine is clean and use compressed air to blow out the spark plug tubes so you don’t drop dirt into the cylinder as you remove them. I always crack the plugs a half turn them blow out the tubes then remove the plug.

Changing for steel wheel to aluminum wheels will require four new sensors because the angle of the sensor to valve stem is different between the two rim types. I suspect you know this because you’re asking about programming. When you get the new sensors (Toyota), record the ID #s of each sensor. Take a picture with your phone. You can then use Techstream to program the new sensors when the tires are installed. There is a utility in the tpms heading in Techstream.

Yes, much longer on some occasions. If you want to take a look here is the story so far
