Ha ha ha yes it is a big rig to get into some places. The passenger side is worse. Was traversing a trail and slid sideways into a tree. We had gotten a lot of rain and the trail was pretty sloppy and loose in spots. Well, I tried wheeling out of it but it just wasn't going anywhere so I unspooled the winch and had no choice but to pull straight. It was the closest tree and took almost all of my rope. So....the passenger side is worse.

    It's funny seeing the Dometic.
Just told the Wife we should get an electric ice chest today.
She said we already have one. I'd totally forgotten about it!!
    And it's the Dometic.
I cringe to think of all the money I've wasted on ice when the Dometic has been sitting in the front room for around 4 years!!

Really? Wow I didn't know either of those things. I saw one that was a sort of military green with a black roof. I think the black roof was a mod. But anyway I always liked those.

Had to do the axle under the leaf springs on the trailer to make it ride level.
I've done that many times on various trailers I've owned and cant believe I dont see it more often.
Makes a huge difference when hauling it offroad!!!

Yep, I've heard of doing that. Not sure why that isn't a more popular thing.

That's really cool. I had an 88 Sentra that could go places I didn't think it could go. It was a great great little car. Wish I had it now. Lol
35 mpg is hard to give up.

If you take your truck offroad on a regular basis a Locker is a Must!!!
Even better if you add a front locker to go with the rear locker!!!
Your Truck will be almost unstoppable!!!!

Yep, I figure if I'm gonna do one, I might as do 2. I think I'd go with electric. I don't like the idea of airlines. What do you think?

I've only had electric so I cant say anything about an air locker.
It does force you to install a compressor which is nice to have for airing back up after offroading.

Right, yeah, I just think electric would be the way to go. I worked in maintenance for years and airlines always wore out before electrical ones did. And if the wiring has conduit in the non-moving areas, it should last for a long time. I may start a thread.....I'll do a search first of course.
Would you happen to know anything about swing out gas can/spare tire carriers? I want one that mounts to the trailer hitch. Any ideas?

Wilco makes some. So does Westcott designs
Here are a couple of views of my Wilco... note that is a 37" mounted to the swingout.

Dont really know much about the gas can carriers.
The only time we've needed extra gas is when we take the trip down Padre Island National Seashore.
It's 60 miles one way from Corpus Christi to Mansfield Pass.
The first time we did the trip we figured a full tank would be plenty.
We didnt take into account how bad the gas mileage was going to be in the sand.
Built 4 Jerry can racks on the small trailer we haul down the beach.
Use two for gas and two for water to wash with.
It's a really cool trip!! You might see a Truck or Jeep the whole time you're out there!!
And the Fishing is Fantastic since there's virtually Zero Pressure on the Fish!!

Man that sounds like a great place to be!! I'd love to do that sometime. About the extra gas, I'm planning on doing some long distance trails at some point.
