Yes is does now. I also got a cheap canopy for it so it'll be mostly out of the rain when i'm not using it.

Are there any screws in the wooden framing, or just staples?

It's a mixture of both. The framing is stapled together into different sections and screwed together. Not much too it. For $30k you can have a brand new one! :puke:

That's a pretty good looking slice of plywood paradise. I assume the white between all the studs is insulation? Are you going to stain or paint the ply?

Yeah styrofoam. I have a bunch of white trim paint, so I'll probably use that.It may not get done until after we get back though. I'm planning to build some clothes cubbies on each side of the bed with quarter sanded plywood. The regular plywood will be on the inside and won't be seen as easily.

I'm known for doing some sketchy shit, but that's a few steps too far past the line for me. Especially for a honeymoon.

I apologize if someone else said this… I read the beginning and clicked to the end as fast as I could. I’ve been married 22 years. A honeymoon is not the time to try this for the initial run. Do plan b c or d . Some of the memories this might create aren’t the ones you want. Rent an rv perhaps fully stocked and focus on something else other than .. can we make it.

Had some time to start on the bed floor tonight.

Went with 2x4s instead of the original 1x4s.

Yes with a heavy front bumper and a winch with 3/8" cable. It's only two rear doors and a bench seat short of a doublecab.

My 95 f150 4x4 was about 4600. But it was made of swiss cheese and tin foil. If you're worried about frame flex go drive one of those.

My ‘02 ac is less than 5k with a cap, some bed interior, and a fridge & battery. But that was a junkyard scale. Kinda thought the other tundras were mostly hot air.

My wife booked a campsite next weekend. Still lots to do. Tomorrow i gotta slap on the airbags and swaybar. Weld up the tie downs. Hellwig still hasnt shipped the add a leaf after a month....

I was worried about the tie down points on the camper so i did some investigative cutting. One isn't very solid at the rear drivers side and i want to fix it. The others have eyebolts through the framing so i'm not too worried about them.

    20250614_154731.jpg

The tie down in question: The plywood here is soft and needs to be replaced at some point. But for now i think I will try to cut a hole next to the outdoor shower to get an eyebolt through the framing here also.

Pressure treated wood might not be a very good idea to use in that close proximity to humans.

You're probably right. Can't be any worse than the mold that's probably in there too. Or all the glue and different chemicals off gassing in there. Maybe i'll get a good buzz and sleep better?

I cleaned the mattress, but it's not coming back. Still stinks like mildew. A new one was $230 but may not arrive by friday. I checked craigslist and got lucky. A brand new short queen 10 minutes away for $100.
