The Entune app. I have it, but I’ve never used it. What’s the purpose.

If you have the premium system, you can update the OS and install more apps. I attempted using it with my standard system and it won't recognize the unit according to the VIN I entered.

Roger that. I’ll try it out. I don’t think I have the premium though.

I was considering doing some research on possibly switching out the current system I have now, Entune Audio Plus, for the Entune Premium. I found a video on YouTube, uploaded yesterday, going over the easy install. Maybe there is a less expensive unit for purchase since this is the first one I found and it is $1,500. It would be nice to have the Integrated Navigation and not have to use my phone and kill data, especially since I plan on having this truck for 10+ years I think it will pay off. Let me know if you guys were planning on doing research too and maybe there is a better deal out there. I also just thought that maybe selling the current system back to them might offset some of the costs...if possible.

Any chance there is a simple upgrade to the system to get the app suite?

You upgrade through the radio itself. I don't remember the exact menus I had to go through, but I remember it was an option. Once I upgraded, all of the apps appeared.

I'm actually becoming very fond of Entune. I'm trying out the Slacker radio and find it useful. I also love the MovieTickets app. My family likes movies and this app makes it very easy to see whats playing and showtimes at the area theaters. It is easier then pulling out the phone and looking up.

Also, the integration with my iPhone is fantastic. No, it does not mirror the screen, but the steering wheel controls and on screen controls work with my music apps on the phone and somewhat work with YouTube. I'm also a very big user of Siri, the assistant on the iPhone. I keep the phone in the little dipped tray of the center console lid and find it very easy to simply press the home button on my iPhone in order to ask Siri for information. All through the stock speakers and microphone. I also use the map on the iPhone over the stock map and find it easy to simply listen to the drive instructions over the speakers.

The more I Entune, the more I'm liking it.

Couldn't find it or find anything online that says it's that easy. If your truck is a Platinum, as it says on your profile, yours came with Entune Premium. My SR5 only has Entune Plus, so it is a hardware difference, not just software :(

That is entirely possible. Yes, min is the premium version and could make the difference
That is entirely possible. Yes, mine is the premium version and could make the difference. I just looked at mine and the menu option to upgrade is:

    • Settings (gear icon)
    • General
    • Upgrade Software
Not sure if this would help, but just thought I'd post where the upgrade options is.
