WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO YOUR 3RD GEN TUNDRA TODAY?

got my dv8 bumper coated in line-x prior to install. also had the power running boards done.

 

Installed my new Atlantic Built exhaust and dump tip today!

 

In hopes of less splash on the body. Had to go with a bold color and matches the interior nicely.

 

2016 Tacoma owner here, had a shop supercharge it, they didn't put the water pump back on properly, major coolant leak and overheated. Who knows how long it'll be in the shop for, so. Decided to get myself a Platinum Tundra!!

 

oh boy - sorry to hear on the Sc'er install ..... which kit ? TRD or Harrop ?

printed some vinyl colors and added red to the embossed TRD on the grill and the TRD badge colors as accent. The TRD vector logo I found online was a little off so had to adjust but it turned out good.

 

Do you have a link for that tool box?

 

It was custom made by a local fab shop. Rattle can painted to match. You can see top and door of the one on my Gen 2.5 and door pic of Gen 3 below. If you want to have one built DM me and I can send some detailed pics and/or check 2016 build in my signature for a few pics.

 

Which muffler option did you go with, and what are your thoughts on the sound?

I got the HWHL edition. It's amazing. I think it's a bit loud but nothing extreme. After 24 with it, I am confident that I made the right choice with this one. Even the wife likes it.

 

Yeah, that's the way I'm leaning. It's their most expensive option, but I'm not over here trying to wake up the neighborhood when I leave for work early in the morning, so it's probably the only option for me. Atlantic Built has by far the best tone I've heard on these trucks.

 

I tried to record some audio and the phone just can't pick it up. It sounds so good in person. It would be interesting to be able to hear them all in person to compare them.

 

Yeah I hate having to judge exhaust sounds off YouTube videos, but among those, the AB tone(HWHL in particular) really stood out to me.

 

Looks good! Considering doing same. Cost?

 

Lots of goodies lately. TRD running boards, gloss black "eyelids" on headlights to protect from sun damage, JL stealthbox with 12" sub, 500 watt amp, and crossover, all new JL speakers, and bass knob in switch panel. Also had them sound deaden all the doors and the rear storage compartment. No more rattles or road noise!

the bumper i snagged for 620, and my local line x place charged me 430 for both sides of running boards and the bumper inside and out. solid price imo
no regrets

Just added a bed step to the rear. Much easier to get into the bed.

 

Just added TUNDRA inserts to the tailgate.

 

Added window deflectors my son bought me as an early Father’s Day gift. I’m going to take a palm sander and even out the cuts on 2 deflectors that look horrible when they came out of the box and then dress the edge with black trim restorer.

 

That black vinyl is a fantastic idea. I think I'll have to steal that idea to keep them from any oxidation.

Was thinking the same thing.
Although a tinted vinyl might look better.

 

Here is matte black installed in my truck. The matte matches all the other vinyl around the doors. Link below. Awesome $30 improvement to the looks of the truck.
