Any secret squirrel sites/suppliers for the best price on WS? Gonna do drain and fill when I install my trans cooler and then I plan to do it again in about 6 months when I install a Valve Body. Best I've found so far is ordering 12qts from Walmart.com. If I do any other qty, the price per quart goes up, lol.

Any way, best deal I found was 112.73 shipped to California. So that's ~9.40 per quart.

Interesting. Once I add tax and cheapest shipping with the Aisin from Rock auto, it's only $5 cheaper for 12 quarts, but good to know I have this option if the Toyota WS deal disappears.

Won't know till later today assuming it's done like they promised.
I'm torn...I questioned putting the embossed stickers stickers on my Tacoma back then.
But back then I was more then willing to race from the light.
These days I've grown up a little...and I'll stress the word "little"!!!

Was kinda pissed at the place doing my install.
I wanted some performance headers but they said they wouldnt install them.
I did however leave a set of Cat Backs for them to install in the bed.
Hopefully they didnt forget that part.
I dont want to do the install with my bad hip and dont want to get a second tune out of pocket.
But I will if thats what it takes.
Like I told the Wife...I'm pushing 60 and want this to be the Baddest Truck I've ever Owned!!!

Well still no thermal blanket. It's now in IL and here on 6/16 from UPS. I should of ordered from FI interchillers directly but CSPracing had a sale with no shipping. Was it worth the $35 savings? No! I'm just venting.
But in hind site it's too hot to work, 85 deg out. Sorry @e30cabrio :p

Probably wouldn't have made a difference since I think CSP drop ships...just my luck.
Vent over ir is it bent over. Haha

I got both accumulator pistons in hand today. Here are the results on size differences and part numbers for future reference. The Sonnax one is supposed to replace my accumulator B on the transmission side as mine had scoring on the piston.

Sonnax could not confirm fitment for the AB60F transmission as they don’t sell anything for the transmission case side of things, only valvebodies. Doing this at my own risk.

Just heard back from Magnuson today. Looks like it’s getting shipped back to me tomorrow.
They had to replace the coupler and rebuild the cartridge.
    Excited to get it back!:mudding:

Oh man. I got a slight can of rocks rattle. Hoping it's just the snout bearings/coupler. If rotor pack guess I can pull it and replace the needle bearings. Fun stuff. Glad your getting back on the road!

oof sorry to hear. hopefully its just the bearings/coupler.
and thanks, I'm happy I'll have the truck back on the road soon. I'm hoping the s/c and my warrantied Camburg knuckles show up around the same time so I can throw everything back on in one go.
Got withdrawals from not being able to drive it lol

Yours only had what, 10k miles on it? Crazy that it needed that much work already... do they have any idea why?

Are these SC issues lately just fluke one offs or is there quality issues these days? Been losing faith in all three brands with all these unexpected rebuilds/issues lately.

Y'all are making me a bit nervous.
Is this a known issue that was fixed in the most recent iteration?
Or is this something I should still be concerned about when I pick up my Truck?

It'll be interesting to see if it is one of these situations where everyone is using the same provider for their bearings or their rotating assemblies. Similar to the Takata air bag cluster.

Fingers crossed it is just a matter of this sample pool being active and vocal in this community that we're hearing about them and that the actual issue is much smaller overall.

    //

Have you all seen the new show "Build For Off Road" and their Factory Five Racing Raptor R killer? It was rather interesting.

Yes and no. We're running ambient +4-8* on average, measured at the MAF, post compression. The intercooler is well spec'd and getting cool enough air isn't the issue. Exhausting the hot side tubing and housing heat when stopped is the main focus of our discussions. There's better options for that than a ram air hood. An actual vented cowl hood would be tits, imo.

My days off to a fantastic start. Have a charity golf scramble at 8 am. Go to get gas at Wawa (we have pump attendants). I say fill with 93 and head in to get some protein bars and drinks. Come out and I hand calc in Fuelly my mpgs. Notice price is low and see he put in 87. Not only could the attendant not listen they also can’t read as it says 91+ 4 times in my gas hutch.

Wawa is paying for the tow, a rental, and the cost to drain and refill. The manager has been fantastic.

I actually emailed magnuson back in January 2024 asking this exact situation if I can octane boost it. They recommend no.

oh well it could be worse! Frustrating but it happens. But my turn for bad luck lol

Most SC issues I see on here are self inflicted gunshot wounds to the foot, with a couple exceptions.

    1. Whipple sent out some tundra superchargers that were out of spec so they were eating couplers.

    2. Anyone having issues with their 1900 coupler, that’s a pretty common wear item especially on that particular blower for whatever reason. The leaking HX O-ring issue is also not very common from what I’ve seen, but I really dislike that design.

    3. The Magnuson 2650 is pretty new, but I have only seen those 2 issues. @Ryuu is one of them and the other was that high pitched sound that was likely an air/vacuum leak from an improperly torqued lid if I had to guess.

I haven’t seen any actual problems with the Harrop since they had some bad wire harnesses, which was 2+ years ago at this point. It’s otherwise a pretty trouble free unit from couplers to bearings from what I’ve seen. I had to replace a weeping coolant reservoir cap after a few years of use. I know @armyoffoo sent his back, but it ended up not being the supercharger and it was his manifold spacers causing the noise. Knock on wood, I’ve got 99 problems but my supercharger isn’t one.

That sucks! I despise not being able to pump my own gas in NJ. I prefer to pay more in PA and pump it myself.

Same. Funny thing is I felt like he’d mess up. He’s an older guy and was running around already because it’s early morning rush and he had to get cash for change to another driver. Lesson learned to watch what they hit before going inside.

Yea was only a year and a month in with it installed and had put about 10k miles on it.
They really didn’t say anything about why, support just told me what they did to it.
I’m just glad it was taken care of and fingers crossed I don’t have the same issue again.

I’m glad I listened to my installer about pushing for it to get warrantied though since Magnuson thought the noise sounded like an air leak in the videos I sent but in person you could tell it wasn’t any air leak.
