Wow, someone's been busy.

 

Normally I like surprises. However, this is quite an unwelcome one.

 

Changed the oil. 215k so I went with Napa full synthetic high mileage 5w-30. Also checked torque on my transmission pan bolts and exchanged 2 qts of transmission fluid.

 

Nice to see someone else with the 4.7

 

Bank 1 and 2 spliced new manifold gaskets. Back in business no CEL.

 

How’d you mount the scan gauge there?

 

Just have the wire channeled up in my cluster between tach and speedo. Attached with two sides tape and the tab tucked into dash. Wires connected with zip ties under dash to keep from hanging. Need to replace the tape it’s been letting go.

 

Not generally a fan of silver but the Tundra looks good in silver!

 

I discovered the rough texture makes it a pita to clean but looks great!

 

silver's never been my first choice but in 2021 tundras were being snapped up FAST and i had to act. i love her.

the all red is slick, what do you do for reverse lights?

 

I use s2 flush mounts in my bumper. Check the thread I linked and I show I customize the wiring to make existing reverse lights into running lights

 

I also got my third brake light ready. Just need to make a custom plug and play harness for the brake and cargo light. The yellow will be a chase light.

brake and cargo will work like factory.

I also did a custom red lens for the brake, multiple coats of lens red to soften the brighten of the red s2

and that’s like $50 bucks if custom gold titanium hardware for the third brake light too

 

New front rotors and pads. Yay!
Old rotors were glazed and it wasn’t stopping great. Plenty of pad life left, but I had to push the pads back to get the caliper off of the rotor.
Now I’m just drinking a beer looking at it!

 

Also did some brake work today. Was hearing metal noises and figured I was on the squealer… Not quite. Pads were somehow wedged on the slide pin and were wearing super uneven. I was nowhere near the squealer on the inside pad.



New pads and rotors since I had a decent set of gouges on the passenger side.



And of course the last bolt. Luckily just enough of a thread poking out of the caliper that I was able get a bite with some vice grips.

 

PowerStop Z23 brakes on all 4 corners. My body is sore as shit from rolling around in the driveway for 5 hours.

Hit a mini odo milestone today

 

Did the trd rad cap and cleaned my TB and MAF sensor. Also got my new badge in the mail from @ nocoastyota on IG.

 

Gang, c'mon.. top one can be found at home depot plumbing section for less than 9 dollars and bottom one at ac duct section!
