My clock has quit working on my 06 DC Limited. It was so dim I could never read it anyway during daylight. I would like a small thin clock to stick on the dash where the factory installed one is. Can go on without a working clock if I can't find a nice looking stick on. If anyone has found a replacement pls post picture and seller info

Interesting. I seem to remember the clock is just part of the 4WD switch assembly panel, I just can't remember if it was a modular component or not, or something you could easily replace.

I really need to take pics of the back of my center dash panel next time I've got it off to work on stuff.

You might be able to fix it if you can get the clock circuit out of the bezel assembly. Supposedly a lot of the failures are due to cracked solder joints that just need touch up with a soldering iron.

... or solder in a light-gauge jumper after you test traces for continuity.

I've also heard the HVAC controls having solder joint cracking issues. And there's a company somewhere out there who'll fix the board(s) if you remove and ship to them. I'd need to dig for the info. I have it stuck in my head theo ne company others mentioned is in TX.

They did not make it impossible to touch up soldering but they sure made it a challenge. Had that whole circuit board off last year checking the 4WD drive switches and general look see. The clock module has about 30 paper clip size prongs that go downwards about 1 1/2" to circuit board.

Huh. Thanks for posting that, Bubba

So it looks like it's a shared PCB with the 4WD controls (@Scuddog this may be interesting to you). So if you got a working board, it wouldn't be too difficult to board-swap, a couple of screws to get there, as long as the donor truck was (ideally) same year, with same drivetrain (2WD/4WD). So not a horrible fix to replace the clock by way of replacing its circuit board.

I don't see any HVAC controls through that specific PCB. I do see the little 5-wire jumper over to the airbag light/hazard control (or whatever). I'm surprised to see two power bulkheads on the PCB with the clock, unless one of those is feeding out to somewhere else for the 4WD buttons. @Scuddog that's kinda what I'm wondering here with your buttons. Maybe one of those connectors is loose, or maybe you've got a bad trace on your board?

EWD would let you figure out the pinout for each connector and what power (if any) should be on each.

@shifty` @BubbaW Hi Guys-My clock is constantly acting strange and has number lights out of sorts-The semi colon {:} between the digits blinks rapidly and the minutes move like seconds at times. Its erratic. Will this lead to other issues if I leave it alone? I don't have the wherewithal to solder it. I appreciate any feed back.

i appreciate it. I can live with it. Was worried about an electrical issue down the road or with other functions.

I suspect @Jack McCarthy can speak more intelligently on this, but pretty sure the clock just uses a standard chip to deal with time progressing/clocking. Whether or not you could just swap it from another is another conversation. It's also no clear to me how easy a swap of the control PCB is.

@shifty` You always pull through for me. Not related to this but my LCA bushings are shot on both arms, there oem. I'm not a moog guy but is there anything recommended besides OEM.

When I’ve seen that behavior on other circuits (non Tundra related) it was typically due to a bad crystal oscillator or connection from it. If the oscillator isn’t visible (small metal rectangular can) it’s probably embedded within an IC package. Might be hard to tell without more knowledge of the components used. A usual giveaway is if the frequency is printed on the package.

Then again, it could be something completely different. Just giving you my real world experience.

Honestly, unless you have the means to press out the OEM bushings and install new OEM bushings, I would just wait for the next Toyota sale and buy complete LCA from Toyota directly. Pressing the old bushings out and getting new ones in isn't as easy looking as I've seen on other vehicles.

The price point difference between getting the OEM bushings alone and the price of the arms with bushings you're paying like 30% more to get the complete arm, and there's no labor involved with pressing.

Big problem with aftermarket arms is they tend to use shitty Chinese rubber that starts to disintegrate within a couple of years.

LED interior swap, that's about it so far
Is there a delete you can put in the place of the clock? Like a little cubby or something to make it look stock? My clock works but it's hard to read and I really don't need it. (will put a better stereo in there at some point)

You could be the first to 3D print one and sell it to us. Here is a pic (not mine) for reference.
