Had a 1995 Civic. When it was time to sell it, since it had 240k miles on it, a sketchy A/C, and noisy CV joints, I thought it was close to worthless and my asking price on AutoTrader reflected that opinion. Wound up just taking it to a wholesaler who gave me several thousand dollars more than I was asking off AutoTrader. He said it's because kids like to make street racers out of them. Whatever blows their skirt up, I guess.

I was crushed when they found the girls and fully understand the rage that everyone feels.

But let’s not forget that’s someone suffering from PTSD for serving the country. There’s no excuse for harming/killing kids but there’s also no excuse for neglecting our troops IMO.

Also, the judge recently ordered him to get a psychiatric evaluation and he didn’t. Lots of opportunities were missed here…

    Yeah, pretty crazy.
My poor wife was a mess in CdA when she heard the news that they found the girls. Then, we came home to our dog not able to walk. That was a shitty 24 hours

We could get into a deeper discussion about individual rights, but if a judge thinks someone with PTSD is in a condition to need a psych eval, I would think it at least worth considering whether he should have access to kids. If this situation is true, there may be more culpability here than just the killer. But no one else will even get their hands slapped for it.

Oh, I agree. Normally I am the first person to tell the gubmint to back dafuk off.

It was during a recent court proceeding to make adjustments to the parenting plan. So the judge smelled something and yet allowed Travis to continue unsupervised visits.

I'm all for supporting Vets and ensuring they have good care transitioning back into civilian life. Which we don't...

    But...

PTSD doesn't make one choose to stake out a campground (scene of the crime) and murder their own children. Then plan a get away. This act was clearly planned and coordinated from the intel that's being released so far. So I have zero empathy for what ever he was managing in relation to him being a combat vet if this is the route he chose. Intel has shown that his wife had multiple complaints about how abusive he was (to the court) yet the courts upheld their opinion that he had rights to the kids. So giving the man a psych evaluation, and not following through but still allowing him visitation rights shows that family courts don't care about the safety and well being of children. The family courts treat children like property and that is the bigger underlying issue at stake here. And it's because they don't want to make tough choices about parental rights. The family court system is broken I can tell you that. And this isn't the first case of showing how broken it is.

You're right on track. If family court judges stated being held liable for their choices they wouldn't make them so casually.

I am fixing a closet door that my daughter put a hole in a long time ago, in her early teens.

Painting a lot of oak doors white. Too much work, almost done.

she also put a hole in the wall with a similar strike. She has a pretty snappy kick.

Way too hot. Obviously if that's your preference then that's great. But I like my pool no warmer than 78. 72 is ideal when it's 105-110 outside.

I like 80 to 86. When it hits 86 I turn the shallow end nozzle up to create a rooster tail, th usually drops it a few degrees.
