The thing about taking Manny to LA, or anywhere else, is the experience.
I'm glad I went to LA in 1984, they cleaned up the city for the Olympics, and it was the first trip I made as an adult away from home.
My first time on a plane, for that matter.
My GF at the time was visiting her father, and I tagged along (against her mother's wishes back in Dallas).
It opened my eyes to how big the world is.

Take him to Disney, see the Hollywood sign, as you said 'see the ocean'.
Whenever Manny sees a movie or TV show filmed in LA he can picture and remember being there.
A trip he will remember for a lifetime..

His name is Leon. His music was cranked when he pulled up. F'ing death metal! The next day when he came to work, he said he got pulled over while driving "black". I said, "Leon, your windshield is totally fracked up!"
Leon.."then why did three other squad cars show up?". Ha! Leon was Army. Smart. His dad was a retired AF Master Sgt. A couple years ago, Leon snagged a great job at Lockheed Martin in Waterton Canyon. Space stuff. $120k job. I talk with him still. He still loves death metal. Thinks Metallica is weak shit. Ha! He has an awesome computer setup. Three monitors. Warthog flight controls setup. Real deal. $$$$. Literally. I mean Literally! I'll ask him to send me a pic. Kuul f'ing dude!

The dress code talk brings me back. I have a closet of more formal work stuff I don’t wear anymore. I never want to go back to that.

Lately I’ve been thinking that more time nude could have a lot of therapeutic benefits.

Everyday clothes, since I have to wear them, I have some general rules. No more T-shirts that say stuff, for me. Just plain mostly. I hit up Kohls when they send me a 40% coupon. Also switched to wrangler jeans because they are a better value fit/wear/cost than Levi’s. Also I’ve tried to find used stuff at Goodwill and our local ARC store, but it’s not a great selection for men’s clothes. For women it’s better, my wife gets a lot of used clothes.

It really boils down to being able to "read the room." If you're an accounting exec, you're likely wearing dress shirts and slacks. Me, I currently work in the motorsport industry. Which is very laid back. I design aftermarket dirt bike parts for a living. So, while I'm allowed to wear things like shorts and tshirts to work. I don't look like a slob. I don't wear faded, old or clothes with holes in them. Nothing super baggy or basketball type shorts. Very casual, but very presentable. I'm truly fortunate to be able to have this view out of my office every day.

The maiden voyage in the new kayak was a success. It seems nice so far. The fish were biting and the weather was awesome, what more can you ask for? I already ordered a couple accessories that should be showing up hopefully tomorrow.

Needs a motor on it, preferably a big 2-stroke. And, is that a pallet fence?

No motor lol that's what the big boat is for! It is indeed a pallet fence, my workplace gives away various pallets for free and those particular ones are big hardwood pallets, it may not look as nice as a white picket fence but free is a pretty good price especially nowadays with the price of wood.

That might have been me. I've mentioned Orthofeet a couple of times. I haven't tried the slip ons, but that will be my next purchase.
The spacers are awesome, the arch supports don't work for me, I don't need them and find them uncomfortable.

The ones I currently wear have laces, but with a Velcro closure. They don't make them anymore, replacement will be slip ons.

Sadly, I bought a $200 pair of Ons that aren't working. They would be great if they came in wide, but they don't. I'd recommend them if you don't need wide, the cushion is really good and they're light weight. But I can only wear them for about 3 or 4 hours.

Maybe this thread needs an additional title, old men's feet and orthopedic shoes.

I'll probably have to switch to Wranglers. I just hate trying to figure out what size I am in new jeans.

Yep, I hate that too. Took a while to figure it out with Levi’s, but luckily the size was close in the Wranglers. I hope they last longer, we’ll see.

You can still present yourself professionally with tattoos. I have tattoos, some coworkers do, my boss does too. Most military members do. Having tattoos doesn't mean you can't be presentable/professional.:notsure:

Who knew that today's episode was going to forever be revolving around dress codes? I didn't think it had the kegs but it sure proved me wrong.

I'll say it again. Dress codes are dumb. And here's why.

It's my personal opinion that one should have enough pride to come to work professionally without being told what that means. Your manners, personal appearance, grooming standards and ability to communicate effectively are all part of that. You've either figured it out or haven't. No one should need to hold your hand anymore because you're supposed to be a grown as adult.

    -Rant over

Whatever this forum told me to do
    yes.

ya know what served me well? N=1

I always dress better than the rest.

    not by much.

    just better.

and groom yourself to resemble somethin' other than a damn caveman.
