The wife has a convention next week in Kissimee FL week and i'm tagging along for a vacation.

The hotel (gaylord palms....lol) has a bunch of shuttles around to different Disney parks, but i have just about 0 inclination to go to Disneyland, maybe the new Universal Studios (been to the older 2 parks), but i've heard it might be the grand opening, so probably super busy. Might just pass on that.

I'm thinking about grabbing a cheap rental car and exploring for a few days if i get sick of hanging out at the resort.
Cool food/drinks/bars/breweries? Sightseeing? I'm not picky.

The Lakes around Clermont are usually quiet this time of year, locals only.... Swimming without the crowds..

The Bell is a British Pub actually owned & run by Brits; down town Clermont

Lake Ridge Winery is in Clermont and another hidden Gem...

If you catch my Theme....Kissimmee is TOURIST Ville, Quick 20-30 minutes out and you will see REAL Florida.... Still roof tops instead of groves:(

BUT not over crowded like the 192 corridor...

You can surprise momma and take her for dinner at the lakeminneolainn.com for a sunset meal.....and yes , my better half just "Chimed in " :hattip:

Thanks I'm going to check out Claremont, sounds pretty cool with come character. We will have Saturday night free and clear before the conference starts (strange it starts on Sunday), we might check out that Inn. Wife really wants to watch the UFC fight, so might have to adjust to a sports bar.

Thanks! I'll check that out. Love seeing some awesome cars!
We did Gatorland back in 2019 just by accident. On our last day before we flew out the wife said "we didn't see any aligators", a quick google search and about a 15min drive and we were in business! Pretty impressive park.

salt-shack.com in Clermont has that and you still can get that Sunset along the lake  or

Miller's Ale House - Winter Garden Hamlin | Restaurant & Sports Bar is closer to your resort; great food and drink plus TV screens throughout...

Winter Garden is closer to Orlando but still has that small town feel....;)

WE Enjoy Central Florida and like to venture out to try different venues...

Good luck and enjoy your time here..:hattip:
