Ok, I was in for another TSB/CSP/Recall within the last year. The ones I've got open right now:
    • CSP 24TE04 - Flow Shut-off Valve Coolant Leak (PDF)
    • RECALL 23TA15 - Certain 2020 – 2023 Model Year Highlander and Highlander HV Front Lower Bumper Cover Assembly May Detach While Driving (PDF)
    • RECALL 23TA15 - Occupant Classification System (OCS) sensors in the front passenger seat that could have been improperly manufactured, causing a short circuit (PDF)
Doesn't look like any apply to the newer vehicles. One or two in here may impact the 2017.

Yosemite is amazing, don’t get me wrong. I went there for 6 days right after the park opened post-covid, right after a very mild winter, it was truly amazing.

But even when we went at a time with very few visitors compared to peak summer times, it still felt crowded. We did dozens of miles of hiking and never went to a place that felt like it hadn’t been visited thousands of times before. Our campsite was completely packed, every spot was full.

Olympic has been different. There’s three people staying in our campsite of 35 spots. The places we’ve been hiking feel truly remote. It’s quieter, calmer, more peaceful. Not to mention that it’s significantly cheaper and much closer to civilization. (Which I realize some people might not want)

I’m definitely returning to both someday. Both are amazing. But my experience so far in Olympic has been more special than Yosemite.

I got you. Yes, Yosemite is on the big 5 list for sure. It stays pretty busy. But wow.

I wish. We flew out here and are renting a Chrysler Pacifica :(

I’ve got a PNW roadtrip planned for someday. But it’s like 32 hours of driving from Chicago to Olympia, which is a stretch for the ol Tundra. Someday.

Done Yellowstone yet? I did on a whim and it was pretty amazing. It is highly trafficked though, lots of tourists.

I went mid to late may and it wasn't terrible. But definitely avoid the summer crowd.

Sequoia front doors are the same as DC front doors. Check the equivalent Sequoia part number even though it is different than the Tundra P/N. I had to replace that part on my driver's door and went with the Sequoia part number and it installed just fine. I believe I had to transfer the lock actuator part over, however. Still going strong four years later.

Anyone replace the front differential bushings? I tried searching but I find most things challenging. Took my truck for an alignment and mechanic said they should be replaced.

We did it twice, once in August (very busy) and once in winter (Feb) on snowmobiles. That was awesome! Did a guided tour with people from our AFB out of West Yellowstone with one of the outfitters there. Rode in on snowmobiles from the town all the way to Old Faithful with plenty of stops on the way in. No crowds and it was beautiful. Rather intimidating riding along the road next to buffalo but they tell you how to handle it. It was cold but they supplied everything pretty much and the snowmobiles were like Cadillac's with heated everything. Had a heavy snowstorm hit us at Old Faithful and road back to town in it. It was one of the best trips we have ever done. I'll add pictures later when i can upload from my phone.

I was there in July a few years ago. It's not bad if you get there early, we arrived at the south gate a little after sunrise and didn't hit too many people until early afternoon.

I just helped another DC owner find the part. They also thought it was disco’d because the Toyota parts system is fucking stupid and doesn’t always reflect what EPC shows. I can’t stress this enough, NEVER use the Toyota Parts sites to find your parts, use the sticky thread dedicated to parts finding. PM me your VIN and I can see if you’re in the same boat. And be sure to tell me which door front/rear and driver/pass.

Question for you people who use Facebook often. I have an account that I use about twice a year and really only use for marketplace and for my extended family to see stuff my wife posts when she tags me in things. I don't even have the apps. I went to check marketplace Monday and then again today and it seems I'm not allowed access anymore. My account is not suspended as I can access all of it except marketplace. I've logged out and logged back in with no issues. Any ideas?

Done. Thank you. I didn't see anything abnormal, but I changed my password anyway. So, it looks like I have to verify my age by uploading my ID. I'm not doing that right now. But now I know. Thank you for your assistance.

They locked me out also, earlier on. And they forced me to upload a picture of myself. So I found a random picture of a guy drinking a beer online and uploaded it into the system. They seemed to be OK with that. I haven't tried to use Marketplace in a while though, and I'm not a Facebook user (I don't have an account for any purpose except Marketplace, and it's full of misinformation), so I dunno if they have me locked down too.

I'm gonna post this here also, in case any of you other Double Cab people need to see it.

Usually it's the driver door that gets worn out and people want to buy. Toyota is apparently discontinuing the latch assembly, but not the latch alone (YET!). You guys are lucky because AC/RC have no choice but to buy the entire f'n assembly.

If you're looking to to buy the part circled in yellow here:

    upload_2025-6-5_10-13-52.png

Be aware DC owners, the exploded is not intuitive to read, because the door latching parts are nested (for RC trucks, it's even worse b/c there's a power-lock vs. manual-lock option). The dealer may tell you the latch assembly is discontinued, which it is for some models. But you can still (for now) get just the latch from the dealer. The price difference is $110-140 for just the latch, and $325-440 for the assembly, with the lower price being the discounts you get using the online parts system.

The red box below is the LATCH ASSEMBLY which includes *EVERYTHING* inside the green box.
The blue box is the LATCH ALONE, which includes only the latch mechanism outlined in the yellow box.

They are two physically different part numbers when you click thru in the EPC.
NOTE: I'm highlighting the LH or Left Hand (driver side) part here. RH gets you the Right Hand (passenger) part.

like said above ^ is the sequoia part number the assembly or just the latch? And if it’s the whole assembly should DC owners just get that?
