Do forums count as social media?

I love it. My wife couldnt get through this part of the conversation without asking why we were arguing with each other. I told her this was a discussion, she chuckled. asked me to let her know later.

 

I used to feel like forums weren’t social media either, just felt more like a chill community where people help each other out over shared interests. But then I caught myself messaging people, sharing pics, and getting caught up in random debates just like on Facebook or Reddit. I guess if it walks and talks like a duck, well… you get it.

 

I suppose another relevant factor would be post count... if you average dozens a day it slips from helpful utility to just yapping lol

 

My post count was altered by a mod as a joke last year sometime. But I'm still guilty AF...
