I'm getting 1/5 of my regular pay (with OT) with short term disablity, but full benefits.
When long-term disability starts in July it will be a little more.
Short term is 6 months, long term can be up to 3 years or so with the possibility of returning to work..

I'd make my base pay if I retired with Social Security, but the retirement insurance coverage isn't as comprehensive as full-time coverage to pay for surgeries.
The only reason I didn't retire in October..
Full time insurance pays for 100% of surgeries, and retired pays for 80%.
So far, my 2 surgeries total to around $300K, my part would have been $60K.
Still trying to figure out if I'm going to get both knees replaced.

Second shoulder, had the right one done 5/7.
I start PT on it Friday.
Still in the stretching PT phase of the left one, I haven't even started strengthening exercises.
Hopefully next week they'll do PT on both shoulders at the same appointment....

My wife and I have somewhat the same 'agreement'.
She wants to put stuff in the garage, I threaten her with 'I'll put it in storage'.
The garage is the only room I have in this house, and I'm ok with that.

As to getting crap out of the garage, that's me.
I finally sold my Dominator steps for $100 just to get them off the garage floor..

Speaking of selling used things y'all should check out the used raft/kayak market. People have lost their minds asking for 90% of retail on 8-10 year old things. And the logic they throw in the for sale post is that no rafts are available and already sold out this year so I'll sell you my beater for todays market price minus 10%. Clown world is a real problem these days.
