I went down to a Toyota dealer today to pick up a truck that they claimed was on the lot. Only to find out it sold, and they told me there is another one they can get from storage. Then the number 9.2% off MSRP, plus my student discount, was a great price. The problem was that they wanted to sell me some type of insurance for key fobs, tree sap, and seat protection for 1450. I refused to buy these add-ons, and they will not sell me the car unless I agree to buy them. My 2024 Tundra sold me an add-on for the same price, but it covered windshield damage, curb rash, key fob, car dents, and tires. Believe it or not, I did use this insurance for curb rash on the rim and wouldn't mind getting it again, but they did not offer this one. I told them no, I would not buy this add-on on and they refused to sell me the car at Envision Toyota of West Covina. I would avoid them at all costs. I know you can cancel within the 30 days, but my last cancellation
They wanted proof that I sold the vehicle before they gave me my refund. Does anyone know the outs of these contracts?

These are the same sleazy tactics a lot of dealers attempt to use. Just move on and find a dealer who doesn't try to force add-ons. I dealt with the same thing for a while with a few dealers....I told them no dealer adds or no purchase. Most of them refused to remove the add-ons, but I found one who didn't charge any add-ons from the get-go and they got my business.

You are NOT entirely right => hence, you are still wrong

To qualify for the Cash rebate you CANNOT get the special financing rates of 1.99 or 2.99% from Toyota. Yes, dealers would love you to finance with them but if you take the CASH rebate then you must use "Conventional" rates which can be 6-7-8% depending on your FICO.

Nothing you stated has anything to do with paying "CASH FOR THE VEHICLE".
My comment was in response to another member who stated the Customer Cash REBATE was only available if a buyer paid cash.

I never stating anything about getting the rebate, the financing offers, interest rates, or any of the other bull shit you've posted.
My posts in this thread were about Customer Cash having nothing to do with paying cash for the vehicle.
I didn't post about getting a rebate OR getting special financing and not both..

Customer Cash is just another name for a Toyota rebate, it is truly that simple.
