How does the frame look on this 2006?

    Hey, everyone! I am strongly considering buying this 2006 limited. Comes with a bed cap. It's at 200K miles and seems to be in decent shape. He did timing belt and water pump at 180K. Ball joints at 160. Bilstein lift. Can you guys take a look at the pics and video and let me know if you see any red flags. Carfax is clean. He seems to have taken great care of it with records of maintenance.

    The buyer is asking $11k for it.

    Looks to be in fairly decent shape to me. In the frame video, right at the 15 second mark, you can see that the inside edge of the frame doesn't appear to be a straight edge close to where the leaf spring mount is. I suspect there is a little delamination there, and you should look at the inside portion there to see how bad it is (mine has it too). Also check around the reinforcement plates on the inside of the rails. Obviously you need a new exhaust system too. I have the Dirty Deeds setup, it's been good.

    Thank for the reply! I am about a 24 hour drive from this truck, so I'm largely relying on photos for now. Pardon the ignorance, but where are there reinforcement plates on the inside of the rails? Are they along the entire frame? I'll ask for a video.

    The important parts of the frame aren’t shown where the trouble areas are located but on first glance, a lot of that looks like dirt/surface rust. You’re probably okay to warrant a trip for a closer look.

    I know he did the add-a-leaf lift. I'm not very knowledgeable on them- is that not where the U-bolt is supposed to be?

    They are not along the entire frame. If you look inside the frame rail, under the area between the cab and the bed you'll see them. That's another common spot for issues.

    And I'm sure someone will come along and say to check the crossmember above the spare tire.
