So is the satellite dish while overlanding considered gloverlanding?

do you guys use an oil drain bolt with a magnet on it? I've seen a couple videos recommending them on older vehicles.

 

It’s gotten harder to cook eggs over easy when they later switched to plastic intake manifolds on a lot of vehicles.

 

I'm about it though. There's nothing wrong with a Home Depot tote setup, but I will say some of the overland solutions are pretty damn nice especially if you're looking for lightweight, hard mounted/secure, durable, ease of use. For instance the Tembo tusk skottle...coleman stove my whole life then I got a skottle and I absolutely love it. Not overland, but those Cabelas catch all gear bags that are always in the middle of the aisles are amazing for organizing gear on the cheap. I have a few of those that got into some large cases and it's like packing cubes for camp gear.

There are about 10-12 brands (all bullshit names) on scAmazon selling those same arms. KSP just happens to be putting their name on it, following the Rough Country model. Buy cheap from mainland factories, offer minimal support and replacement, watch the money roll in.

Ewww! I forgot my brother had a bluetooth OBDC dongle. It's the Hyper Tough HT500 from Repair Solutions 2. I borrowed it from him, downloaded the app, and set everything up. A full scan of the 02 AC revealed no codes. So, I'm back to crawling under the dash and checking out the fuse box and such.

 

The style that physically locks in two different positions, as opposed to the style that returns to its original location after pushing?

Electronic cutouts are great if you want to be able to pick when you want to be rowdy.

I think it would be a good idea and I wouldn't mind to run one myself, but I never think to look for one. A lot of GM vehicles come with them from the factory, or they did 20 years ago.

 

$9 Walmart tire repair kit saves the day again. Literally. The difference between missed appts and work for my daughter. So cheap, so easy. No hour+ at a tire shop waiting for a repair. Not to mention tire shops charge $20 to fix a flat now. And I’ve yet to have a plug fail.

 

That’s like the 3rd or 4th you’ve gotten in one year’s time.

I drove the Tundra to work today because my Camry had a flat this morning. I'll take care of it later, hopefully just a plug will do.

 

Took less than a minute to repair it on the car. Then just aired it back up. I didn’t even let all the air out. Just zipped the screw out, reamed it, shoved a rubber cement soaked plug in the whole and trimmed off the excess.

 

That's what I was thinking...
@KNABORES do you have a (always in a hurry) tradesman on your street, like leaves tool boxes open and drives away slinging fasteners down the road?
No failures in my el-cheapo tire plugs here either. Keep the kit right in the truck, I also ride bareback with no spare

 

Ditto here, but it's b/c construction everywhere. Literally put new tires on the Highlander a few months ago, within 6 weeks already had to plug one

I'm with @KNABORES, as long as it's not within 1/2" or so of the sidewall, I'll plug it. To hell with wasting 1hr+ to get it inside-patched. You don't need to use rubber cement if you use self-galvanizing plugs and I wouldn't trust the cheap Chinese-made units, even if they said they were self-galvanizing. I use USA-made plugs purchased direct from Safety Seal, they guarantee their product and give you a nice carrying case, all the tools are nice and heavy duty, build to last.

I've had this specific kit for years now, and I'm still not even halfway through all the plugs, even with plugging our tires, the half a dozen flats our friend next door and their kids/friends have gotten: https://safetyseal.com/product/kap30/

PS - I think Kauffman may still do free patches. But they got bought out by Mavis recently, so who knows if (or how long) they'll keep that policy or not.

I must be lucky because I almost never pick up nails. I think I've had to patch one tire in the last decade.

Or maybe it's just ignorance on my part. I don't check them that often.
