So should I wait on buying a new TRD Pro Tundra? Had my eyes on the new blue color TRD Pro. I was going to put a deposit down for one with my dealer but wondering if the phase 4 update will include recent or even 2026 model years.

Anything built December 2024 through current day should be just fine.

The Phases are only for those in the recall period - November 2, 2021 through February 13, 2023

Just figured this out, clearly the alternator is causing these to fail..... Therefore, Hybrid owners therefore have nothing to worry about!!!

So much power needed to turn that 180 amp generator.

But now that Lexus has installed it on a Hybrid (LX 700h), let's see if those start to pop.

I haven't seen much on the Sequoia side but I would imagine it's in the same boat?

MY23+ Sequoia is Hybrid only. There has been plenty of failures with them, but not in the same league as the Tundra simply because there aren't as many produced/on the road.

That's a shame, especially given the price. So would you recommend holding off on a new tundra/sequoia or do you think it's sorted out by now?

Definitely not when 2024 and 2025 are having the issues too.

Actually, 24 and up tundras are all reliable now. I spoke to multiple sources, and they are all in line with what i'm saying.

There are multiple 2024 and 2025 model year failures. The 25s I've seen are all pre-Dec 2024 build dates, though.

Interesting. I wonder will the extend the recall at some point. Mines a 23, built in May 2023.

I doubt it, the numbers are much much smaller, but thats just my wild guess.

my build is the month after the recall ended so I'm probably high on the list for a blow up, not a damn thing I can do about it except boost the piss out of it and see if it happens.

I hear ya. I’m of the same mindset but I’m a 400 km train ride or 600km tow to the nearest dealer so it does make me nervous.

Sounds like you'll be taking some laps at T2S next year.

Come on... redline in 4x4 through deep cinders is a great test.
