I recently got the 6112 front shocks and 6100 rear shocks + Eibach rear springs. I had a local shop install them, and he did the 1" lift in the rear and said he did 1.7" in the front. He said he couldn't go higher on the front without possible sway bar issues. I was hoping to get the full 2.2" lift in the front. I am curious, is he right? Also, what would I need to get the full lift in the front if so? He also said: "After some miles, the springs up front may settle down to about the 1.5 or 1.6 lift, then we can go up from there." Is that accurate, and if so, how long should it take until I can go up?

Not a response to your question, but curious how you are liking the 6112/6100 setup

I really like it so far, haven't actually had a lot of time to drive my truck, but it drives a lot nicer than stock. I had added 35/11.5/r20 Toyo A/T IIIs a while back and it seems to be a lot smoother now. Eventually I plan to swap to 17 or 18" wheels and the same tire but 12.5" wide. I was hoping to get a higher lift, hence the question above, but other than that I really enjoy them.

The end links should have still been able to seat up at 2.2" of lift. That said, at that point there is a decent amount of tension on that junction. A small swaybar spacer will help with that. My personal recommendation is to go back and have him grab your 2.2" of lift, and ditch the swaybar altogether. The springrate and valving of the 6112 will keep the truck plenty stable without it, and it'll let the IFS actually work.

With my 2014, I got 2.5" of lift with my 6112s with no issues, installed in 2015..
They're on the second to the lowest setting.
No sway bar or alignment problems..

I run 5160s in the rear with Toytec shackles on the 1" setting.

    Good luck...

I just installed the 6112/6100 at full height with a Camburg UCA and have not had any rubbing or drivability issues this past week. I also installed Method 305 17” wheels and Toyo ATIII tires which are 35x11.5x17. The initial ride is slightly stiffer than stock but not by much. The Toyo LT’s are a C rating so definitely more forgiving than the E rated version which I am willing to give on to gain a more comfortable ride in town. It will be a little while before I get them off the pavement but so far I’m happy with the choice.

I changed from the Fox 2.5 at the last minute because I just didn’t feel like the added cost and service was worth it for what I will likely need. The increased shock body size will likely be sufficient for my off roading and if not then I will just keep upgrading as I go.

Any reason you went 11.5" on the toyos instead of 12.5"? I need to get new tires when I get new wheels and was thinking of getting the 12.5"

Less poke, drive smoother/easier, and slightly better in the snow. It just comes down to personal preference for the most part.

Oh interesting, why are they better in the snow?

I think they are better in rain. As far snow goes, it really depends on the vehicle. Narrower tires are suppose to dig deep and offer more traction but this also matters on the car or truck. On lighter cars this isn’t really the case so probably wouldn’t matter. On heavier cars or trucks like ours it’s suppose to be able to dig deeper. Honestly I wouldn’t worry about it. They both will do probably the same. On the other hand, wider tires more surface area, equals to more contact so really again probably wouldn’t matter too much. Most people run narrower cause of the poke or rubbing issues not that they actually care for more traction. Wider tires on gravel is better though.

Glad I found this. I’ve been on the fence of upgrading from my Wescott lift, and these are the shocks im hoping to get.

Yeah I really like them so far, just wish I got the full 2.2" lift.

For what it’s worth, I feel like you shouldn’t have an issue going for a higher clip. I’m on a Wescott spacer lift and have no issues. Also, I had an icon lift (never installed) and it came with a sway bar spacer since it went over 3”.

Truck is a bit dirty. It has 35"x11.5x20 Toyo AT IIIs on it as well.
